This is a fairly easy game to achieve 1k in, but will require at least 50 hours of playtime thanks to an achievement that requires you to play for 50 hours. There isn't much of a story, but the game does get harder on later 'levels' (ie. the higher your gardening level the harder the game).
Introduction
Welcome to Viva Pinata! This game has a total of 50 achievements each worth 20 each and only requires one playthrough to reach the full 1000. However good you are at this game, you will have to 'play' at least 50 hours to get every achievement. Many of the achievements can be acquired simply by completing the game (many achievements unlock at specific levels, converting sour pinatas that appear at specific levels, etc) while others you will need to go out of your way for.
Walkthrough
As you start the game, follow Leefos' instructions and get down to work with your pinatas and tending your garden. Each achievement usually has a 'complete 5' and a 'complete 50' pair, so you are awarded for starting the job and finishing it. Most of these achievements will come by normal play. For example, the 'Garden Value Master' will come when your garden gets large enough, 'Master Green Fingers' will come very quickly if you use plants as a means of income. You may even get achievements without knowing about it, or specifically going out of your way to get them.
Most of the secret achievements are for doing things that you wouldn't do if you played normally. See the achievement guide for details on how to obtain them. Sour Pinatas can fetch you not one but two achievements; the Sour Tour achievement and the specific secret achievement for conducting an act with the now tame sour pinata. A guide on how to convert Sour Pinatas can be found HERE.
Throughout the game you will find that 'Pinata Central' asks you to send in a couple of pinatas for a contest, show, etc. Your pinatas will be returned better then how they left, so it is beneficial if you send away as many pinatas as possible for factory requests. One achievement, 'Master Collector', may be very difficult and time consuming for some. This requires that you have 50 of a possible 60 species reside in your garden (meaning they start living in your garden after you meet the prerequisites). This achievement requires a lot of luck and will probably get you past the 50 hour mark without even trying for the Longevity achievement. For a list of pinatas and how to make them residents, visit THIS THREAD.
Conclusion
This game is a simple yet time consuming game to complete, thanks to some achievements that require luck and others that require sheer playtime. Unlike other games, you probably won't rip your hair out or yell at your TV while playing Viva Pinata. After all, it's family game.
