Introduction:
We Are The Dwarves is an action-based tactical adventure with active pause (extreme slowdown of time) placing you in control of three Dwarven astronauts. Forcer is capable of ranged destruction, and timely set-up execution. Smashfist, a brute at heart, gets up close and personal with rage worth avoiding. Shadow stays just where you'd expect him to, launching deadly successive assassinations and precision archery from afar. You will play as individuals and as a trio to take down aliens that can sense you in different ways, from sight to smell. The game is very linear and the gameplay a little repetitive but the characters and story are good.. The achievements are very straightforward, and will be attained by playing through the story

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
There are two chapters of nine levels, with each level split into different sub levels. However, you can get all of the achievements by the third level of the second chapter, where you meet your final enemy related to achievements. There isn’t much to be said about the achievements, they are almost all for killing a certain amount of different enemy types. You will get most if not all of these while playing through, but if you don’t have any by the time you meet the Pirate Shaman, you can go back and play any level to get more kills. You can even just replay levels if you want to get the achievements faster. The only non-kill related achievement is “Wind round one's little finger,” which is described as “hide from 3 enemies”, although this is just for hiding from any enemy three times, not necessarily three at once. The game isn’t too difficult and you can play on easy, the only time it gets a bit tricky is when you first play as Shadow. He is the stealth character, and to go true stealth can take a while to work out, but you can take pot shots and run and hide to make things faster.

Conclusion:
Not the most exciting of achievement lists, the developers could have been much more imaginative. However the list allows you to plod through the game at your own pace, not worrying if you might have missed something or having to do something in particular. Just kill everything that moves!

  • Kill 5 Sludge Workers

Refer to “Pest exterminator” for more information.

  • Kill 20 Sludge Workers

Refer to “Pest exterminator” for more information.

  • Kill 100 Sludge Workers

Sludge workers are the bug type enemy that you will first encounter while playing as Smashfist in the second level of chapter one. Kill 100 of these across all levels - you can replay the same level over and over again if you like. They can easily be killed with any attack you like, and go down very quickly.

  • Kill 5 Fishman Pirates

Refer to “Aya! Aya! Cthulhu fhtagn!” for more information.

  • Kill 20 Fishman Pirates

Refer to “Aya! Aya! Cthulhu fhtagn!” for more information.

  • Kill 50 Fishman Pirates

Fishman Pirates are first encountered at the very beginning of the second level of the first chapter, but show show up properly during chapter two. They are the bipedal aliens with fish like appearance. Kill 50 of these across all levels - you can replay the same level over and over again if you like. They can easily be killed with any attack you like, and go down very quickly, however they often hang around in packs. You will encounter them mostly with Shadow, so either perform stealth kills or get them from a distance.

  • Kill 5 Whistler Pirates

The Whistler Pirates are the first enemy you will come across in the game, in the very first level. You will hear them whistle, which is a dead giveaway to who these guys are. Kill 5 of these across all levels - you can replay the same level over and over again if you like. They can easily be killed with any attack you like, and go down very quickly.

  • Kill 4 Fishman Shamans

You will be introduced to the Fishman Shaman at the beginning of the third level of chapter two. You can actually take him out right at the start of the level with Shadow’s long shot () attack. Stand between the right side of the boat and the rocky outcrop, and select your weapon. You will have to aim it manually, but as soon as you see the floating guy highlighted orange, take your shot. Reload your latest save three times and repeat for this one.

  • Hide from 3 enemies

The achievement description states “hide from 3 enemies”, however this does not have to be at the same time. You can hide three separate times from three separate enemies. You will probably either get this or one or two from natural play. There are plenty of places throughout the game where you can successfully hide, and you won’t even know you have done it. Keeping the system achievement tracker is a useful trick, as if you see the bar for this achievement go up, repeat what you have done three times.

  • Get caught by Sand Hunter for 7 times

You will first encounter a Sand Hunter while playing with Smashfist on level two. They look like two purple/brown leaves laying on the ground. After the cutscene showing a Fishman Pirate getting swallowed up by one, step on where it was to get caught. You can repeat this here seven times, once you get caught, walk back and let it catch you again; but you will encounter plenty more as you play through the story.
