Introduction:
We Are The Dwarves is an action-based tactical adventure with active pause (extreme slowdown of time) placing you in control of three Dwarven astronauts. Forcer is capable of ranged destruction, and timely set-up execution. Smashfist, a brute at heart, gets up close and personal with rage worth avoiding. Shadow stays just where you'd expect him to, launching deadly successive assassinations and precision archery from afar. You will play as individuals and as a trio to take down aliens that can sense you in different ways, from sight to smell. The game is very linear and the gameplay a little repetitive but the characters and story are good.. The achievements are very straightforward, and will be attained by playing through the story
Abbreviated Walkthrough:
There are two chapters of nine levels, with each level split into different sub levels. However, you can get all of the achievements by the third level of the second chapter, where you meet your final enemy related to achievements. There isn’t much to be said about the achievements, they are almost all for killing a certain amount of different enemy types. You will get most if not all of these while playing through, but if you don’t have any by the time you meet the Pirate Shaman, you can go back and play any level to get more kills. You can even just replay levels if you want to get the achievements faster. The only non-kill related achievement is “Wind round one's little finger,” which is described as “hide from 3 enemies”, although this is just for hiding from any enemy three times, not necessarily three at once. The game isn’t too difficult and you can play on easy, the only time it gets a bit tricky is when you first play as Shadow. He is the stealth character, and to go true stealth can take a while to work out, but you can take pot shots and run and hide to make things faster.
Conclusion:
Not the most exciting of achievement lists, the developers could have been much more imaginative. However the list allows you to plod through the game at your own pace, not worrying if you might have missed something or having to do something in particular. Just kill everything that moves!
