Introduction
Welcome to the movie and television cash cow for Microsoft--Xbox Video app. Happily though we will be able to work around having to purchase a single item in order to complete the achievements. Overall the app is a very strong contender to take over the market for getting movies and television shows before they come out elsewhere, albeit the price factor is a bit heavy. Hopefully with this G&RM we will be able to work around having to spend any money, although you will be investing a ton of time into this app as it is easily the longest app out to date.

Important Note--Do not Finish Any Video!
This is a massive word of caution. Ensure that you do not finish any video to the very end as the app WILL NOT consider it watched and give you tracking progress if it ends. This means you must be around to end every single episode of a TV show yourself or risk gaining a minuscule amount of time watched for actual time put in.

Best way to work around this is to set a timer on a phone, laptop, or alarm for a minute or so before the video is scheduled to end. This enables you to get back to the app, hit and then go back to the video home to end watching and restart it.

Abbreviated Walkthrough
We will start out with the movie section by choosing any movie whether you own it or not and scrolling down to the trailer button to unlock "The Following Preview." Now search for one of two titles as they are free and decent in length: Atari: Game Over coming in at one hour six minutes and Remaking the Legend Halo 2: Anniversary coming in at one hour two minutes. Once you find these films, scroll down in one of them and pin it to your home to unlock "There’s No Place Like Home." Now you will use the tip found above (stopping a video before it ends and restarting) to work your way through the following: one hour worth of movies ("Movie Night"), 10 hours worth of movies ("Movie Fan"), 25 hours ("Movie Mogul"), and 100 hours ("Film Buff"). Now that the movies are done you are half way to completing the app. Onto the television shows we go!

For the TV shows we will rely on one free series, and one episode to do it all! You want to look for Countdown to UFC in the search bar for television shows. From here, the longest episode available is episode 22 coming in a little over 45 minutes long. Just like for movies, exit out of the show before it finishes and make sure you manually restart the episode every time. You will work through the hour, 10 hours, 25 hours, and 100 hours and will finally complete the game.

Conclusion
We can now breathe and relax as we have slain probably over 200 hours of free, free, free content. It was a long haul, but be proud of the fact that you have completed probably the hardest (most because of length), and of course longest app on the Xbox One marketplace. I want to say congratulations again on this accomplishment and hope the G&RM was able to help you along the way. Until next time we take on a titan!

  • Watch movies for an hour

See "Film Buff" for details on going about getting hours worth of movies.

  • Watch 25 hours of films

See "Film Buff" for details on going about getting hours worth of movies.

  • Watch 100 hours of films

There are two free movies with length suitable for grinding toward the 100 hours: Atari: Game Over coming in at one hour six minutes and Remaking the Legend Halo 2: Anniversary in at one hour two minutes. With this in mind, choose either and ensure that you set a timer for a minute or two before the video is scheduled to end. You must, and I shall say it again, must stop the video and restart it manually or YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT for watching. The app is buggy in such a way it does not think you finished the video if you let it end automatically. This is simply a grind in which you must watch the Xbox to make sure the video plays, and be around to restart it.

  • Watch 25 hours of TV episodes

  • Watch 100 hours of TV episodes

There is one free series with length suitable for grinding toward the 100 hours: Countdown to UFC, with episode 22 coming in at the best time just over 45 minutes. With this in mind, choose the episode and ensure that you set a timer for a minute or two before the video is scheduled to end. You must, and I shall say it again, must stop the video and restart it manually or YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT for watching.
