Introduction:
Hitler’s hordes are back for more in this spine-chilling shooter from the makers of Sniper Elite 4! Abominable occult enemies, epic weapons and a harrowing new campaign for 1-4 players await in 1940s Europe, as you fight to save humankind from undead Armageddon!

The resistance have defeated Zombie Hitler and cast him into Hell – but the dead rise once again with greater hunger than before! Continue the alternate history of Zombie Army Trilogy in huge new levels, and uncover a sinister plan that takes the Survivor Brigade across Italy and beyond!

Experience genre-defining ballistics, build the slayer that suits you and harness the power of fire, lightning and divine essence as you upgrade your guns to fight back against the dead. When the horde surrounds you, tear them apart with enhanced melee combat and flesh-rending takedown moves!” - microsoft.com

There are only two modes in this game; campaign and horde, and each is playable either solo or online in 2-4 player co-op. There is a good mix of achievements, from completing a certain amount of waves in horde, obtaining collectibles, ranking up, upgrading your weapons, and most importantly, killing zombies in a variety of ways.

Gameplay is your typical third-person shooter fare. This is not a cover shooter like Gears of War nor is it stealth like Sniper Elite, but there are areas where stealth is the better option to running and gunning. However you play the game, you should have a good time doing it.

Step 1: Campaign on Easy
The main focus of this step is to just complete all 9 missions of the campaign and to obtain all of the collectibles. It is not necessary to play with any co-op partners on this difficulty, but doing so can make the game more enjoyable. If you do decide to play in 2-4 player co-op, each person will earn the individual mission completion achievements, and upon completing the campaign, Is it over? (15G). Playing through on Easy will naturally progress any cumulative achievements such as weapon masteries, skills, rank, and enemy kills. For these and other achievements you may have missed during your campaign playthrough, refer to the Mop Up section below.

Step 2: Campaign on Hard
For this step, the only thing you should be concentrating on is completing the game on Hard difficulty. Because of the difficulty, it is encouraged that you do this with a full complement of four players, which will also unlock That's a lot of them, and only 4 of us (30G), and set the enemy setup to ‘1-player’ to have the minimum amount of enemies. On this difficulty, enemies deal more damage to players and take more damage to defeat, so try not to get in a situation you can’t get out of. The reason for doing this as a second playthrough is so you have an idea of what to expect in each mission plus to have your weapons upgraded so they are more effective.

Refer to This is no Sunday School picnic! (30G) for more information.

Last Chapter Exploit:
To unlock This is no Sunday School picnic! (30G), you are required to complete the campaign on Hard difficulty. However, if you’ve already completed the campaign on a lower difficulty or are playing with teammates, there is an exploit you can take advantage of so you won’t have to play every chapter of every mission. Playing the last chapter of each mission, in any order, counts as completing the entire mission, making your Hard playthrough a lot less stressful. If playing with a full complement of four players using this exploit, you can unlock the achievement in approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.

Collectibles:
There are five types of collectibles, 140 in total, spanning all 9 missions of the campaign. Once you collect something, it is saved so you do not need to collect it again. Also, when someone collects a Comic, Document or Zombie Hand or performs a Heroic Action, everyone in the party collects it as well. But for upgrade kits, each player needs to collect them individually. Refer to Hoarder (15G) for more information.

It is recommended that you collect everything during your Easy playthrough.

Co-op/Online:
While it is recommended that you play the entire game (both campaign and horde) in co-op, there are four achievements where you are required to play online with others. Three of the four you can do with just one partner (I never liked them anyway (15G), Got your back (15G) and A friend in need (15G)), but for That's a lot of them, and only 4 of us (30G), you need to play the entire campaign with a total of four people. Refer to the guide for the easiest methods to unlocking these.

If you need a hand, feel free to post in the Official XBA Friend and Co-op Finder thread.

Ranking Up:
XP is earned in both the campaign and Horde. To reach Rank 100, you need to accumulate 1,000,000XP. Upon completing both modes, you’re likely to only be Rank 40-45, so you will need to grind if you want to unlock Gore soaked (30G) and Hail to the king, baby! (50G). The latter achievement in the guide details a few methods to use to make your grind less of a chore, but still a chore nonetheless.

Horde:
Horde mode is a wave-based game type where you need to kill a certain number of enemies per wave. As you complete waves, the difficulty increases, spawning stronger enemies with increasing damage. This mode is designed to be played with up to four players.

There are 7 achievements tied to this mode. Four of them are for completing through wave 12 on all four maps. Then, Just me and my trusty sidearm (20G) is for completing through Wave 5 on any map without picking up a weapon, meaning you can only use your default pistol. Next, I'm a survivor! (30G) is for completing 20 waves in a row on any map. Finally, A gross gross (30G) is earned by completing 144 waves of horde, which is cumulative over your entire horde playthrough.

Mop Up:
Use this step to earn any achievements you may have missed, such as the numerous achievements for killing enemies a certain way, mastering any weapons, any collectibles you may have missed, or if you need to grind out rank.

    (1)

  • Complete 12 waves and escape from Horde Map Into the Darkness.

Refer to Not today you won't (15G) for more information.
  • Complete 12 waves and escape from Horde Map Villa Della Morte.

Refer to Not today you won't (15G) for more information.
  • Complete 12 waves and escape from Horde Map Dead in the Water.

Refer to Not today you won't (15G) for more information.
  • Complete 12 waves and escape from Horde Map The Bitter End.

For these four Horde achievements, if starting from Wave 1, after you complete Wave 12, you have the option to continue playing or to 'escape' the map and end the game. You can escape after any wave after Wave 12 and you will still get these achievements, but if you and your whole team dies, you've lost the opportunity and must start again. Note that when you decide to escape, all players must escape at the same time or else the game will continue.

Note: If you replay any map, you can select which wave to start on depending on how far you've progressed previously. You do not have to complete Wave 1-12, just any 12 waves consecutively, so if you start on Wave 7, you need to play through Wave 19 before you can escape to unlock this achievement. Also, you cannot join someone's game and expect to unlock the achievement when everyone else does; you yourself must complete 12 consecutive waves. Unless you and your team are experts at Horde, it is recommended that you start on Wave 1 as it will be easier to survive.

This can be done on any difficulty, any enemy setup and either private or public. It is suggested that you play on Easy difficulty with 1-player enemy setup, and that you have at least two people (four is recommended). Of course, you can attempt this solo as well if you choose. When you start, you only have a pistol, with more weapons and equipment available from supply drops. You cannot customize any weapons in Horde.

Save your takedowns for larger enemies and use your special melee to clear out the weaker ones. Keep an eye on your weapon assist meter (the middle/larger meter) and if it's full, use it. Depending on the weapon being used, you can deal a lot more damage for a short amount of time.

A common strategy is to leave one or two enemies "alive" at the end of a wave so you can resupply ammo and equipment and to set up traps for the next wave (make sure they don’t trigger the traps). At the beginning of each wave, your health replenishes so only use a medkit when it's absolutely necessary. Luckily, there are choke points on every map so if you and your teammates position yourselves strategically, you should have less trouble surviving.

Note: While you are attempting this, you can potentially unlock Just me and my trusty sidearm (20G) as well.
  • Reach wave 6 on any Horde Map without picking up a Primary or Secondary weapon.

This can be done on any Horde map, but you must have joined or started a game from Wave 1 to unlock this. The map 'Into the Darkness' is recommended since it is just a long corridor and the enemies basically spawn at one end or the other.

Set up or join a game, preferably with four players total. Have the difficulty set to Easy with 1-player enemy setup. If you are playing with a full lobby, you shouldn't have many issues any if you stick together. When the game begins, you will have only a pistol, and that's all you should be using until you complete Wave 5. At the start of Wave 6, if you haven't picked up any other weapon, the achievement should unlock.

Note: Although it hasn't been confirmed but picking up health packs or grenades/equipment might void this achievement. Since your health is replenished after each wave, it might be best not to take that chance.
  • Complete 20 waves in a row on any Horde Map.

This can be done on any Horde map, and so long as you complete 20 consecutive waves, it doesn't matter when you joined the game. It is best to start from Wave 1 with a full complement of four people, preferably friends since you should know each other's play style. Also, the map 'Into the Darkness' is recommended since it is just a long corridor and the enemies basically spawn at one end or the other.

Set up or join a game and have the difficulty set to Easy with 1-player enemy setup. The more people there are the less difficult it is. When the game begins, stick with your teammates and coordinate strategies so no one person is left to fend for themselves. As you complete waves, the difficulty increases and stronger enemies appear, so teamwork is key. Leave one enemy alive so you can replenish ammo and equipment so you are not rushing to do it before the next wave starts.

You must complete the 20th wave for this to unlock. When it does, you can either continue or escape, and if you decide to escape and haven’t earned the 'escape' achievement for the map you are playing on, it will unlock as well.

Note: While you are attempting this, you can potentially unlock Just me and my trusty sidearm (20G) as well.
  • Survive 144 waves in total.

This can be done on any Horde map or a combination of maps. This is cumulative and will come naturally if you keep playing Horde, either solo or with other players. Note that if you've completed the six other horde achievements, you should have already survived a minimum of 56 waves.

If you aren’t playing Horde normally, you may just want to keep replaying Wave 1 of ‘Into the Darkness’ on Easy difficulty with 1-player enemy setup. There are a minimal number of enemies and can be completed in approximately one minute, give or take, depending on how many players there are. Start on Wave 1, and when you’ve completed it, just restart the game and replay Wave 1. Repeat as needed to unlock the achievement.
  • Reach rank 5.

You earn progression for this in both the campaign and Horde.

You need 20,000XP to reach Rank 5. Assuming you started with the campaign first and depending on how well you perform in it, this will probably unlock at the conclusion of Mission 1 or possibly a couple of chapters into Mission 2. It is earned through natural progression. Refer to Hail to the king, baby! (50G) for more information.
  • Reach rank 50.

You earn progression for this in both the campaign and Horde. You need 345,000XP to reach Rank 50. Refer to Hail to the king, baby! (50G) for more information.
  • Reach rank 100.

You earn progression for this in both the campaign and Horde. You need 1,000,000XP to reach Rank 100.

This will probably be your final achievement. Playing through the campaign and Horde, you will probably only reach Rank 40-45 so there will be a lot of grinding and replaying to do. XP is earned by completing challenges and chapters in the campaign and earning medals in both the campaign and Horde. The points you earn determine the medal you obtain, and the higher the medal, the more XP you will earn.

As of the most recent update (on 02/15/20), they severely nerfed the amount of XP you earn playing Horde, so that is not a viable method anymore. There are only two methods for earning a good amount of XP. The first involves playing solo on Mission 1/Chapter 1 on Easy with 4-player enemy setup repeatedly.

Note: On this chapter, a Bronze medal is 200 points, Silver is 5,000 points and Gold is 16,000 points.

This method takes about 2-4 minutes (depending on how fast you are) and you can potentially earn up to 6,000XP (depending on the medal you obtain). First, make sure you have the 'Combo Boost' and 'Combo Extender' perks equipped and leveled up as much as possible (Gold III is recommended for each, but they should at least be Silver II). Also, it is recommended that you use either the Gewehr 43 or M-1 Garand and have them upgraded enough to give you extra ammo (Magazine III upgrade). You should not use the Mosin Nagant because of its slow fire rate.

From the start, run past the zombies, climb the wall, turn around and kill as many zombies as possible for some extra points (try to get dismemberments and be aiming for at least 3,000 points). Next, make your way into the stronghold, talk to Bruno then go upstairs to the radio tower objective. First, kill the four zombies on the radio tower then proceed to blow up all the explosive containers around the area. By doing this you should complete or be nearing completion of the chapter challenge for 1,000XP (20 dismemberments). If you haven’t completed the challenge yet, quickly scan the area and try to get dismemberments on the remaining zombies, all the while trying to keep your combo going. Once you've surpassed 16,000 points, head downstairs and into the safe house to end the chapter. Rinse and repeat.

A video of this method can be found HERE courtesy of SoloVG.

The second method only works if you have a physical copy of the game (which involves playing offline without any updates). If you are interested, refer to THIS POST.

A third method was discovered by 360GameTV in August 2020. This can be done with a patched game. What you need to do is play on Mission 1/Chapter 2 and get your explosive kills up to around 70-72 (of 75 for the challenge for that chapter) before you reach the blood sealed door at the end of the first platform. Then, surrounded by zombies, get the blood seal checkpoint, kill enough zombies with a grenade to complete the challenge, then reload the checkpoint. You receive 1000XP each time for 10 seconds of work (not counting the time to get to that location). Refer to THIS THREAD for more information.
  • Gold

    15

Earn a Gold Medal on any chapter.

This can be earned in campaign only.

There are three tiers of medals you can earn and the requirements for them are different for every chapter of the campaign. Successive kills will result in high combo multipliers which is key to earning a Gold medal.

To get a Gold medal easily, play Mission 1/Chapter 2 solo with the enemy spawn level set to 4 players. Luckily you will only have to deal with low-level zombies (no Officers or Heavies). The first skirmish is to defend the train station which, if played smartly, will net you a very high combo as there are literally dozens of zombies. Using the trench gun will dispatch them easily. When you're done with the station, the remaining enemies that spawn as you make your way down Platform 1 can give you some good combo multipliers as well if you herd them together before killing them.

At the end of Platform 2, there is another opportunity to keep your combo multiplier going. Again, there will be dozens of zombies here along with two electrified traps to assist you. Same method is to herd groups of zombies together so every time you shoot, you're killing at least one to keep your combo going. Remember that when you've earned a takedown, use it as it can recover any health you’ve lost.

When you exit Platform 2, you will encounter Suiciders for the first time. There will be approximately 5-6 of them along with 50+ zombies, so use them to your advantage as explosion kills yield more points than regular kills. When you're done with this skirmish, the safe house is just around the corner.

More points will be awarded if you get headshots, multiple kills with one bullet, critical hits, and so on. Also, some loadout options that are beneficial to use are weapons that have either explosive or electrical upgrades (for more points) and having the 'Combo Extension' perk, which extends the combo time. Also, 'Combo Boost' begins your combo already multiplied (depending on the tier unlocked).

If you keep your combo multiplier high and consistent, you should earn approximately 200,000 points in this chapter which is more than enough to earn a Gold medal.
  • Complete a level with 5 Gold Level Skills equipped.

This can be earned in campaign only.

There are three categories of skills (called perks in the game): Offensive, Defensive and Other. When perks are equipped, they offer a boost in whatever they represent, whether it's damage, more ammo, more health or stamina, faster reloading, and so on. They are beneficial to surviving later missions in the game and especially on Hard difficulty.

There are 12 perks per category and 3 levels per perk (Bronze I, Silver II and Gold III). Refer to the link below for a full description of each perk in each category. To unlock this achievement, you must have five Gold III perks equipped and finish a campaign mission, but you won't have five slots unlocked until you are Rank 35.

Actions for obtaining higher levels of perks is different for each perk. For example, one of the first perks you have unlocked is called 'Second Chance', which allows you to self-revive by killing a zombie if you are downed. To earn the Silver II level, you need to revive yourself with less than 6 seconds left before dying. Then for Gold III, you need to kill 15 zombies while in a downed state.

Not all perks are as simple or straightforward as this one. There will be some that you will earn Gold III on without even trying (or have equipped) and then others where you have to actively work on. When you are editing your player setup, the game lists the requirements to obtain the next locked level.

Once you have unlocked five Gold III perks and have reached Rank 35, equip them all and complete all the chapters in a mission. Mission 1, 'Dead Ahead', is probably the easiest as you don’t encounter any zombie classes above a Suicider. If playing solo, play on Easy difficulty with a 1-player enemy setup.

Exploit Method: Once you have reached Rank 35 and unlocked five Gold III perks, equip them all, and, despite what the achievement description says, you do not have to complete an entire level (level meaning mission). If you complete just the last chapter of any mission with the perks equipped, this will unlock. Mission 1/Chapter 3 is probably the easiest as you don’t encounter any zombie classes above a Suicider. If playing solo, play on Easy difficulty with a 1-player enemy setup.

  • Complete the weapon mastery for any weapon.

You earn progression for this in both the campaign and Horde. Refer to I can do anything I want. I got guns (30G) for more information.
  • Find all Journals, Comics, and hidden Weapon Upgrade Tokens.

    (1)
There are 140 collectibles spanning all 9 missions of the campaign. These collectibles come in the form of Documents, Comics, Upgrade Kits, Heroic Actions (for Send me an angel (15G)) and Zombie Hands (for Gotcha, didn't I? (15G)).

Once you collect something, it is saved so you do not need to collect it again. Also, if you are playing with co-op partners, when someone picks up a Document, Comic, performs a Heroic Action or shoots a Zombie Hand, it is saved for everyone. Unfortunately, each individual person must pick up the Upgrade Kit.

Change your characters appearance, such as with a hat or costume.

To get this right away, select 'Horde' then 'Solo Play'. Select your difficulty then on the 'Player Setup' screen, select 'Character'. Press :1rb: to move to 'Headgear' and then select anything other than what is already selected that is not locked.
  • Complete the Campaign on any difficulty.

The campaign contains 9 missions with a total of 32 chapters to play through. Playing solo only gives you access to the missions and chapters you've completed, whereas playing online with others allows you to play any chapter of the game, which can be beneficial when playing on Hard difficulty. You can play a combination of solo and online and still unlock this achievement once you’ve completed the campaign. Note that playing the entire campaign with a full team of four players will unlock That's a lot of them, and only 4 of us (30G), regardless of difficulty.

As with other games that have difficulty achievements, it is recommended that you play on Easy, especially if playing solo, to familiarize yourself with the mechanics of the game and to make finding all 140 collectibles less demanding. Refer to Hoarder (15G) for their locations.

Note: Unfortunately, there is no tracking on what missions/chapters you've already completed, on what difficulty, or with how many players.
  • Complete the Campaign on Hard difficulty.

You can unlock this playing solo, but it is suggested that you play this difficulty with up to three other teammates set to 1-player enemy setup to make this as easy as possible. Enemies are tougher and inflict more damage on Hard. In addition, if playing with teammates, friendly fire is on, meaning that you cause damage to your teammates if they happen to be in your line of fire.

Note: It is recommended that you at least master your most-used weapon before playing the campaign on Hard. When you master a weapon, you obtain the Platinum skin. With this skin applied, it gives your weapon a damage boost which is helpful when playing on Hard.

Exploit Method: If you've already completed the campaign on a lower difficulty or are playing with teammates, there is an exploit you can take advantage of so you won’t have to play every chapter of every mission to unlock this achievement. Playing the last chapter of each mission, in any order, will count as completing the entire mission, making your Hard playthrough a lot less stressful. If playing with a full complement of four players using this exploit, you can achieve this in approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.
  • Complete every campaign level with a full team of four players.

This is an online achievement that can only be earned in the campaign.

For this, you need to complete all 9 missions/32 chapters with three other teammates. It must be the entire campaign; you can’t join at any point and expect this achievement to unlock when you complete the last mission.

If playing on Easy, you could probably speedrun the campaign in about 7-9 hours, but it is recommended that you do this with upgraded weapons as it would make it even less difficult. Also, there are parts of the campaign where you can run past the enemies to complete objectives, but there are areas where you must hold out until all the zombies are eliminated.

Note: You can use the exploit method mentioned in This is no Sunday School picnic! (30G) and still unlock this achievement provided you have completed all chapters played with a full team of four players.
  • Unlock weapon mastery for 3 weapons.

You earn progression for this in both the campaign and Horde.

For a weapon mastery, you need upgrade your weapon a total of 12 times by locating and earning upgrade kits then complete a final challenge to master the weapon. For this achievement, you must master three different weapons.

There are three categories to upgrade and each category is different based on the weapon. Each category has three tiers and each tier is unlocked when you reach a certain rank; Tier 1 is unlocked from the start, Tier 2 is unlocked at Rank 10 and Tier 3 is unlocked at Rank 20. For each category, there is one upgrade each for Tier 1 and 2 and two upgrades for Tier 3. You cannot apply upgrades to tiers that you have not unlocked yet.

You can access the player setup screen before missions (or Horde) or by accessing the work bench in each safe house of the campaign. To upgrade your weapon, locate upgrade kits in each chapter of the campaign (refer to “Hoarder” for more information). You can also earn upgrades by ranking up, completing a sticker album, completing chapter challenges and earning a Gold medal in a chapter. Perform well in the campaign or Horde and you will be rewarded.

THIS LINK details all of the upgrades you can unlock for each base weapon in the game courtesy of GamesHedge.

Once you have upgraded your weapon fully, you now must complete a challenge to master your weapon and be awarded the Platinum skin (which boosts weapon damage when equipped). Each weapon has a different challenge you must complete, but if you are proficient in using the weapon you selected, you should have no issues completing the final challenge.

The mastery challenges are as follows with some spots where you could farm kills:

    Rifles:
    • Gewehr 43 - Kill 10 snipers by shooting them through the scope
      • Snipers first appear in numbers in Mission 2/Chapter 1 and again in Mission 4/Chapter 4
    • M1 Garand - Kill 100 Heavies, Officers or Blind Screamer by shooting their weak spot
      • Mission 5/Chapter 2, after exiting the sewers, there is a Suicide General. Kill it then restart the checkpoint. Rinse and repeat.
    • Mosin-Nagant - Get 200 headshot kills over 50m
      • Beginning of Mission 1/Chapter 1 (stay at the top of the hill), at the radio tower in Mission 1/Chapter 1 or Mission 1/Chapter 3 just after exiting the safe room (shoot the zombies at the far end of Platform 4), solo on Easy with 4-player enemy setup
    Secondary Weapons:
    • M30 Drilling - Kill 250 Zombies by dismembering limbs
      • Train station in Mission 1/Chapter 2 or beginning of Mission 2/Chapter 4, solo on Easy with 4-player enemy setup
    • MP44 - Get a kill every 2 seconds for a total of 30 kills
      • Train station in Mission 1/Chapter 2 or beginning of Mission 2/Chapter 4, solo on Easy with 4-player enemy setup
    • Thompson - Shoot and dismember the legs of 200 zombies
      • Train station in Mission 1/Chapter 2 or beginning of Mission 2/Chapter 4, solo on Easy with 4-player enemy setup
    • Trench Gun - Get 200 triple kills or above
      • Train station in Mission 1/Chapter 2 or beginning of Mission 2/Chapter 4, solo on Easy with 4-player enemy setup
    Pistols:
    • C96 Pistol - Get 200 ricochet kills
      • Beginning of Mission 1/Chapter 1, train station in Mission 1/Chapter 2 or beginning of Mission 2/Chapter 4, solo on Easy with 4-player enemy setup
    • M1911 - Get 200 headshot kills
      • Beginning of Mission 1/Chapter 1, train station in Mission 1/Chapter 2 or beginning of Mission 2/Chapter 4, solo on Easy with 4-player enemy setup
    • Webley MKVI - Get 200 double kills
      • Train station in Mission 1/Chapter 2 or beginning of Mission 2/Chapter 4, solo on Easy with 4-player enemy setup
A Guide to Platinum Weapon Skins (with locations to farm kills)

Note: It is recommended that you at least master your most-used weapon before playing the campaign on Hard. When you master a weapon, you obtain the Platinum skin. With this skin applied, it gives your weapon a damage boost which is helpful when playing on Hard.
  • Perform 50 Takedowns in total.

You earn progression for this in both the campaign and Horde.

To perform a takedown, you must first fill your takedown meter. It is the right-most circle at the bottom center of screen. To fill it, you need 10 uninterrupted kills (but not necessarily a x10 combo). When the circle is filled (glowing red), press :1a: on an enemy and, depending on the weapon you are holding, you will perform a takedown with that weapon. Doing this also recovers 20% of your health.

There are many spots in the campaign where you can farm this. Mission 1/Chapter 2 is probably the easiest since you don't have to deal with anything except low-level zombies. There are two spots where there are dozens of zombies; at the beginning in the train station and at the end of Platform 2, with some trickled in the middle. Play this chapter solo on Easy difficulty with the enemy spawn level set to 4 players and rip through them. The trench gun is probably the most efficient way to dispatch the zombie horde. As the meter fills, perform a takedown. Rinse and repeat.
  • Kill 3 enemies with one blast from a Preacher.

    (1)
This can be earned in campaign only.

The first opportunity in the campaign to get this is in Mission 1/Chapter 3. You will find the Preacher inside a weapon crate on Platform 5. It is a shotgun with a very wide dispersal that can kill multiple enemies easily with one shot.

After you open the blood seal on Platform 4, climb the steps and turn right (it's a bridge over to Platform 5). At the end of the bridge, to continue on with the campaign, you need to turn right. Instead, go down the steps to the left and turn around to go into the small alcove. In it you will find a weapon crate with a Preacher inside.

Go back up the steps and you will see about 10 zombies at the bottom of the other side. All you need to do is to herd the zombies into a group and get a triple kill with the Preacher.

Thanks to KicKnaZZ Games for the video:

Note: If you do not get it here, continue with the chapter and when crossing on top of a railroad car hanging off a cliff, just beyond, there will be a herd of 30+ zombies trudging towards you. Take aim when they bunch up and you should unlock this easily.
  • Drop a Shell Cargo Pallet on a Zombie.

This can be earned in campaign only.

There are a few locations in the campaign to unlock this, the first being in the lab during Mission 3/Chapter 3, but if you didn't get the opportunity to unlock it then, there's another chapter later in the campaign where you can easily obtain this. Note that this will only work if you shoot a pallet that has shells on it, which can be identified by the cone-looking item on it.

In Mission 8/Chapter 2, there is a shell cargo pallet in the factory immediately after you exit the safe house. There is a suspended pallet on the far side of the factory and slightly to the left; aiming in that direction will reveal its location. If playing with a 4-player enemy setup, it's almost guaranteed that there will be zombies beneath it. If one isn't, then just wait until one is, shoot the pallet (or the pulley holding it up), and it will come crashing down on the zombie, unlocking the achievement.

Thanks to 360GameTV for the video:
  • Headshot a Zombie post resurrection.

This can be earned in both the campaign and Horde.

You will have many opportunities to get this in both the campaign and Horde. After you kill a zombie, there will be times where it might be resurrected. This is identified by them rising from the ground with an orange glowing pentagram on their spot. Once they are standing, take aim at their head and shoot. If the kill is classified as a headshot, the achievement will unlock. If not, keep an eye out for another opportunity.
  • Kill a Zombie using the Blade Melee Special Attack.

This can be earned in both the campaign and Horde.

You first need to have the 'Machete Slash' special attack selected which is unlocked at Rank 2. Since this will be your first unlocked special attack, it will automatically be selected. Note that you can only select one attack at a time.

To use the special attack, when the left-most circle at the bottom screen is fully charged (glowing red), press :1rs: to melee a zombie. After using the attack, there is a 30 second cooldown period where it builds up to use again.
  • Kill a Sniper whilst they are jumping between vantage points.

This can be earned in both the campaign and Horde.

Snipers first appear in Mission 2/Chapter 1, while you are traveling down river on a boat and show up sporadically as you are completing the objectives. It's probably better you don't attempt this here because of the large area they jump between and locating them can be a pain. They are also at the beginning of Mission 4/Chapter 4, in the stronghold in Mission 6/Chapter 4 and at the beginning of Mission 8/Chapter 4. Any one of these locations is suitable to unlock this achievement.

They are noticeable by their green cloud around them that leaves a trail as they jump between vantage points. When they are aiming, there is a green beam, and you can tell when they're about to shoot by their scope flickering. Their pattern is usually aiming at you or one of your teammates, shooting once, then rotating in the direction they will jump. You need to anticipate their jump and lead them (aim ahead of them) so that when they do jump, you shoot where they will be, not where they are. It's best if you watch their pattern before committing to killing them so you don't have to reload the chapter/checkpoint unnecessarily if you keep killing them before they jump. It is also recommended that you attempt this on a lower difficulty as you take more damage as you're watching their pattern.

Note that if attempting this solo, when aiming down the scope of your sniper rifle, when you press :1rb: to empty your lungs, the gameplay slows down which might make this easier.
  • Kill 5 Heavies with takedowns.

You earn progression for this in both the campaign and Horde.

There are three heavies in the game: the Butcher, the Flamer and the Heavy Gunner. They are easily identifiable by their large size and unusual weapons. They are not like other zombies where they go down with a few bullets; it takes a massive amount of firepower to kill these enemies.

Luckily, if you damage them enough, they fall to one knee and are immobile for about 4-5 seconds. This is your takedown opportunity. If your takedown meter is full and you see one of these enemies in this downed state, quickly run to face them then press :1a: and you will kill them with a special animation.

You need to perform this action a total of five times to unlock this achievement.
  • Kill a friend who has resurrected as a zombie.

This is an online achievement and can be earned in both the campaign and Horde.

When playing with teammates, your first reaction when someone goes down is to approach and resuscitate them. To unlock this achievement, allow them to die. When this happens, they will be resurrected as a zombie which will give you an opportunity to unlock this. Since they will be almost unidentifiable when they’re resurrected, you need to keep an eye on which one is your former teammate. When you see them, simply kill them. Having them hold :1x: while they are downed will make them give up quicker.

Another method, so you don't have to worry about playing without a teammate, is to start any campaign chapter on Hard difficulty so friendly fire is on, shoot your teammate, let them die, then shoot them again.
  • Perform a takedown on a Blind Screamer.

This can be earned in campaign only.

Blind Screamers first appear in the campaign at the beginning of Mission 4/Chapter 2. They are larger zombies that only react to sound, and if they hear you, let out a scream that alerts other zombies of your position. They are also tougher to kill than other zombies, requiring a good amount of firepower to kill. On their back they have a weak spot that, if you continually shoot it, will kill them faster.

To unlock this achievement at this location, it is recommended that you play solo on Easy with a 1-player enemy setup. After you exit the safe house, walk down a corridor, turn right and you will see the first screamer just outside the door. If you played through Chapter 1 and filled your takedown meter, you can attempt this achievement here, but if you started playing from this chapter, you will not have a takedown.

If starting fresh, you need to kill this first screamer quickly, so keep aiming and hitting their weak spot on their back. After you kill it, you need to build up your takedown meter, and luckily killing birds and rats count. There are 11 vermin in the immediate area that you can build your meter with. Refer to the video for their locations.

When you have a takedown, continue down the corridor from the last vermin you killed and you will emerge in an overgrown courtyard. There will be a Blind Screamer in this area, so while crouching, walk around slowly until you see it. Watch their pattern because they can change direction suddenly. When you have an opportunity, sneak up behind the screamer and when the :1a: prompt appears, press it and you will jump on it's back and kill it. If the screamer notices you at any point, you must restart the checkpoint.

Thanks to 360GameTV for the video:
  • Finish a level with 5 or less zombies resurrecting.

This can be earned in campaign only.

As described in Shoot it, man! Shoot it in the head! (15G), a resurrecting zombie is noticeable by it rising from the ground with an orange glowing pentagram on their spot. For this achievement, you need to complete a campaign mission without more than five zombies fully resurrecting.

It is recommended that you attempt this on Easy with 1-player enemy setup. Playing with teammates is beneficial since you can kill more zombies quicker. What everyone needs to remember is that when you kill a zombie and it is still intact, there's a possibility that it will resurrect, so while it's on the ground, either shoot it in the head or press :1rb: to stomp on it. This might be difficult when you are faced with many zombies at once so just pay attention to the ones you've killed and if it looks like it might resurrect, it probably will. A resurrected zombie only counts when it is fully resurrected and starts to walk around again.

There are some areas in a chapter where you can just run past zombies, so if you have this opportunity, take it. The less zombies you kill means the less potential resurrections. Being methodical in hold-out sections where you need to kill a certain number of zombies to progress (for instance, to open a blood seal or fill up a blood fountain) will greatly increase the chance of this unlocking.
  • Kill 20 zombies with Electric Punch Special Attack.

You earn progression for this in both the campaign and Horde.

You first need to have the 'Electric Fist' special attack selected which is unlocked at Rank 8. Once unlocked, you can select the attack under the 'Melee' option in your loadout at any work bench in any safe room. Note that you can only select one attack at a time.

To use the special attack, when the left-most circle at the bottom screen is fully charged (glowing red), press :1rs: to melee a zombie. After using the attack, there is a 30 second cooldown period where it builds up to use again.

After meleeing 20 zombies with this special attack, the achievement will unlock.
  • Kill a Suicider with his own explosives.

    (1)
This can be earned in both the campaign and Horde.

Suiciders are first introduced in Mission 1/Chapter 2, as you are making your way to Platform 3 towards the end of the chapter. They are screaming glowing zombies with no arms, sprinting towards you with two grenades in their mouth and dynamite strapped to their chest. You will know when they will appear because of the loud screech they emit.

To unlock this, you need to shoot the explosives either in their mouth or on their chest, which can be difficult as they are running towards you. As aiming down a sniper scope is somewhat cumbersome, if you try to use your sniper rifle for this, aiming down the sights is recommended. But, using the trench gun is probably the most efficient way to unlock this.

If you do not get this immediately, you can reload the checkpoint, or if you decide to wait, in Mission 5/Chapter 2, you encounter a Suicide General that summons Suiciders. A Suicide General also appears in Mission 6/Chapter 1, where you must survive a clifftop ambush.

Thanks to KicKnaZZ Games for the video:
  • Kill 5000 enemies of any kind.

You earn progression for this in both the campaign and Horde.

As you are leveling up to Rank 100, this will naturally unlock. If you've completed the campaign and Horde, a good spot to farm this is Mission 1/Chapter 2, playing solo on Easy with a 4-player enemy setup. You can get at least 250-300 zombie kills with each run, and all of them except the 5-6 Suiciders at the end of the chapter are basic zombies, so there won't be any trouble killing them. It's best to not even pay attention to this as this will unlock while you are going for other achievements.

Note: While there is no achievement tracker, your progress will pop up on screen in regular increments.
  • Get 3 headshots with one bullet.

    (1)
This can be earned in both the campaign and Horde.

This one is a bit of luck based. A good spot for this in the campaign is in Mission 1/Chapter 2, when you encounter the Suiciders (the objective is 'Survive the Suicider Skirmish'). After first killing the two or three Suiciders sprinting towards you, you will see zombies lining up along the left side of the alleyway. Using your sniper rifle, take aim at one of the closer zombie's heads and shoot. Since the zombies are walking so close together, chances are that your bullet will penetrate three heads. Aiming higher should ensure that you get headshots as aiming lower might hit the third zombie in the torso. Keep an eye out for the 'Triple Kill' notification on the right side of the screen.

If you do not get this by the time the area is almost cleaned out, restart the checkpoint, but make sure you do this before the next objective appears.

Note: It may take a moment for the game to register the kills. And be careful as there will be Suiciders hidden within the herd.

Thanks to KicKnaZZ Games for the video:
  • Sever 10,000 limbs.

You earn progression for this in both the campaign and Horde.

As you are leveling up to Rank 100, this will naturally unlock. If you've completed the campaign and Horde, a good spot to farm this is Mission 1/Chapter 2, playing solo on Easy with a 4-player enemy setup. Using the trench gun is a sure-fire way to get dismemberments as each shot has a wide dispersal. Using explosives such as grenades or teller mines is another way to get a good number of severed limbs. It's best to not even pay attention to this as this will unlock while you are going for other achievements.

Note: While there is no achievement tracker, your progress will pop up on screen in regular increments.
  • Get an unbroken 10-headshot streak.

    (1)
This can be earned in both the campaign and Horde.

This can be unlocked at the very beginning of Mission 1/Chapter 1. Walk down the street a bit and you will see zombies lumbering about. Taking careful aim, shoot each one in the head. If needed, press :1rb: to empty your lungs to steady the shot (and zoom in if playing solo).

Another location to get this is during the target practice mini-game in the safe house at the start of Mission 1/Chapter 2.

Note: You do not have to get a x10 combo or fill your takedown meter for this to unlock. Just getting 10 headshots in a row without missing is sufficient.

Thanks to Mehdi Juventino Gaming HQ for the video:
  • Kill 20+ enemies with 1 explosive.

This can be earned in both the campaign and Horde.

You need to wrangle enough zombies into a group then throw a frag grenade. The earliest in the campaign you can attempt this is during Mission 1/Chapter 2, at the end of Platform 2 (before you encounter the Suiciders). At the end of that platform, there will be a few dozen zombies and two electrified traps. Without killing too many, run around and avoid them as much as possible so they group up and follow you. When you think there's enough, throw a grenade towards them (making sure it doesn't activate one of the traps) and if your combo multiplier is x20 or above (and you didn’t have one previously), the achievement should unlock. If it doesn't, restart the checkpoint and try again.

It is best to attempt this solo on Easy difficulty with the enemy spawn level set to 4 players. If you don't get it here, there will be many other opportunities during the campaign. Just remember to herd the zombies together so they're bunched up enough.

Note: It helps to have the ‘Bombardier’ perk equipped. The Bronze tier increases damage and the Gold tier increases damage radius.
  • Kill 50 enemies that are actively attacking other players.

This is an online achievement and can be earned in both the campaign and Horde.

This will unlock through natural progression. Often throughout the game you and your teammates will be surrounded and be injured by hordes of zombies, either by weapons or melee attacks. When you see your teammate being attacked like this, kill as many zombies as you can and eventually the achievement will unlock.

Note: When you kill a zombie attacking another player, the message 'Ally Saved' will pop up on the screen in your kill feed.
  • Revive other players 50 times.

This is an online achievement and can be earned in both the campaign and Horde.

Whenever you see a teammate get downed and needs to be revived, stand next to them and hold :1a: to resuscitate them. Perform this action 50 times and the achievement will unlock.

Another method is to play on Hard difficulty as friendly fire is on, meaning that you take damage from your teammate’s weapons. Begin any mission and before leaving the safe house, keep shooting and reviving your teammate until the achievement unlocks.
  • Complete 4 level sections without using a medkit.

This can be earned in campaign only.

Each level section is one chapter. It is very possible that you will unlock this without even trying. To unlock this, you must not use a medkit for four chapters. It does not have to be chapters in the same mission, just four chapters total.

Even playing on Easy, you still need to be aware of your health. Try to avoid any unnecessary injury, and if you do need health, try to fill up your takedown meter (kill 10 enemies quickly) so you can perform a takedown to recover 20% of your health.

In some chapters, you can find Divine Grenades in crates that, when thrown at your feet, heal anyone in its radius.

As a last resort, if you are desperate and playing solo, you can allow yourself to be killed so you respawn with full health, but it might be necessary to backtrack. If you are playing with others, take enough damage to get downed then ask your partner to revive you, which will replenish half of your health. Be warned, if you are not resuscitated, you are resurrected as a zombie and will not respawn until the end of the chapter.
  • Kill 50 Zombies in a row without missing a shot.

This can be earned in both the campaign and Horde.

A good place to farm this is at the beginning of Mission 1/Chapter 2. It is recommended you use the trench gun for a wide dispersal. It is best you play on Easy difficulty using the default enemy setup but you might want to set it to '4-player' to ensure you get enough kills.

At the start of the chapter, work your way to the train platform and a mini-cutscene will play showing a train barreling towards the platform then crashing. Zombies will start pouring out so just take aim and shoot, making sure that your reticule is red and that you’re aiming for the upper body to ensure you get a kill (this should also count for dismemberments). You might want to stand on the ramp about halfway so the zombies filter in a line towards you, making missing a kill almost impossible. Be careful though as zombies spawn from behind so you may be attacked and need to relocate.

DLC: Title Update 5: Nightmare Mode

There are 1 achievements with a total of 30 points

  • Complete the Campaign in Nightmare mode.

Exploit Method: As noted in This is no Sunday School picnic! (30G), the exploit where you can just play the last chapter of each main mission and be credited for the entire mission as being complete on the selected difficulty or enemy setup works for this achievement as well.

‘Nightmare Mode’ is the new enemy setup selection for Zombie Army 4: Dead War. It is not a new difficulty despite what the achievement description says. It was made available as a free title update in May 2021 and is accessible once you complete the campaign or if you play with someone who has already completed the campaign. It is for up to two players only. To unlock this achievement, you only need to play the 9 missions of the main campaign; DLC missions are not required. You can play on any difficulty (Easy is highly recommended), but the enemy setup for this mode is at least twice or triple the amount of enemies as the 4-player setup, possibly (probably) more, but no exact figure has ever been released by the developer.

In each chapter, along with every kind of lesser zombie in the game, there is an overabundance of heavies, often 2-3 of each, as well as Armored Giants (both armored and electrified), Officers, and Suiciders, some of which may not have previously appeared on lower enemy setups. It can get pretty overwhelming at times, so listed below are some suggestions.

    Recommendations/Strategies:
    • Play with a co-op partner as the enemy count is the same; two guns are better than one
      • For secondary weapons, have one player use a trench gun (shotgun) while the other uses an MP44
    • Play with a character who has fully upgraded weapons/Platinum skin if possible
    • Use Gold perks if possible. You'd probably want to stick to Defensive perks as they will help you stay alive longer
      • Authors Note: I used ‘Second Chance’, ‘Rejuvenation’, ‘Enhanced Vigor’, ‘Iron Clad’ and your choice of ‘Hardened’ (to reduce melee damage), ‘Insulated’ (to reduce fire damage) or ‘Bulletproof’ (to reduce bullet damage)
    • Use takedowns on stronger enemies and special melees on weaker enemies often as they replenish 20% of your health
    • Weapon focus is very useful as it slows down time to make more accurate hits and deals more damage
    • Keep moving! Often you can herd enemies into one area then run to another part to kill them. Circling around the area is almost a necessity
    • If a teammate dies, they do not respawn until the next checkpoint
    • Focus on the strongest (heavies, officers) and ranged (spitters, grenadiers, snipers) enemies first, but thin out the weaker/slower ones as you do. Once you kill a heavy, or there is a stationary MG, use its weapon to kill other heavies (if there are any). Kill and stomp all officers as soon as possible as they resurrect and summon lesser enemies
    • Be patient, take your time but be aware of your surroundings. Nightmare Mode is unforgiving, but if you play smartly you can reduce the number of times you may need to replay a checkpoint

    Glitch Notes:
Although there was an update in late September 2021 to address this, the achievement has been known to glitch for some players and it is unknown what causes it, so keep things consistent as there will be less of a chance the achievement will glitch. There have been reports where some people have had to uninstall and reinstall the game and play with no DLC installed or clear their save file and play with a fresh character to get the achievement to unlock.

    • You can skip cutscenes with no issues
    • As a precaution, wait until the next mission begins and you reach the first checkpoint before quitting out as the game could potentially glitch on you, cheating you out of this achievement
    • If you play with a partner, it is highly recommended that you play with the same partner throughout your Nightmare playthrough, and keep the same host throughout

    Mission Notification:
In late August 2021, Rebellion added a green skull icon to the mission select screen to let you know which missions you have completed on Nightmare Mode. Why they decided to do this for Nightmare Mode but not for any other enemy setup, difficulty or how many players you completed a mission with are unknown.

    What to Expect:
As stated above, it is not necessary to play through all the chapters of every mission. For this section, the focus will be on what to expect in each last chapter of each mission and assuming you are playing in two-player co-op.

YouTuber I Lap The Flash has created videos completing all 9 base missions and 7 DLC missions (which are not required) in Nightmare Mode while playing solo. The videos show them completing each mission in its entirety. If you need visual assistance, feel free to watch.

Mission 1: ‘Dead Ahead’, Chapter 3 - ‘Off the Rails’
Mission 2: ‘Death Canal’, Chapter 4 - ‘Gates of Hell’
    Mission 3: ‘Meat Locker’, Chapter 4 - ‘Schweiger's Revenge’
These three chapters aren’t too bad with two players, with the last chapter in Mission 3 probably being the least difficult chapter in the entire game. Remember to keep your distance if possible and to keep running around.

Mission 4: ‘Zombie Zoo’, Chapter 4 - ‘Planetarium Assault’
The first area has you clearing out a rocky enclosure filled with spitters, grenadiers and snipers. After advancing, you encounter a couple of Blind Screamers before approaching the exterior of the planetarium. Here, you must clear the area before entering the planetarium, but there will be many grenadiers, creepers and heavies.

Once inside the planetarium, if playing with a co-op partner, it is suggested that one player set the two blast charges while the other one runs around and thins out the horde. There will be many officers and heavies in this area, and you need to kill just about all of them before escaping.

Mission 5: ‘Rotten Coast’, Chapter 4 - ‘The Best Laid Plans’
You start off by entering then exiting a cellar. There are a few heavies and lots of armored giants throughout. Once you exit, your next objective is to fill a blood fountain. A good strategy here is to run to one end, let them walk within the circle, then run to the other end and kill them. Repeat this until the gate opens.

In the next area, once you trigger the bomb, the gate closes and all hell breaks loose. In this small area, you are going to eventually face lesser zombies, spitters, armored giants, officers, and heavies. In the first wave, try to kill the officers first as they can summon and resurrect lesser zombies. Then concentrate on the armored giants, saving the lesser zombies for last. During the second wave, creepers and snipers will appear. Here is where your first heavies will show up. As you are running back and forth, try to pick off the snipers.

The third wave starts even before the second wave ends. Here you will encounter more officers and armored giants. Again, concentrate on the officers first. Eventually you will thin out the horde and the bomb will explode.

Mission 6: ‘Molten Nightmare’, Chapter 4 - ‘The Final Hell Tower’
The majority of this chapter takes place in a castle courtyard. Right off the bat, you’re going to have to contend with snipers, spitters, creepers, grenadiers, officers, and a couple of suiciders. You should first close the two rifts on the stairs as well as take out the officers. Then it’s just a matter of running around the courtyard taking out the snipers and other zombies. Before you’re finished, a heavy, more suiciders and lesser zombies will spawn.

Once the first seal opens, a heavy will appear along the upper walkway. When you get to the corner, armored giants will bust out of a wall. After you take the blast charge, a few dozen lesser zombies will spawn and make their way upstairs. Place the charge at the base of the hell tower and a new wave of the undead will appear, including snipers, officers, suiciders and armored giants. Again, take out the officers first then run around and thin out the horde while sniping the snipers. Eventually another heavy will appear but this wave isn’t as overwhelming as the first.

The second seal will open so go upstairs to retrieve the second charge. This time won’t be as bad as the first as there will only be a few armored giants and a handful of zombies to contend with. Once you place the charge, you must survive the final horde, but luckily it won’t be for that long. When the gate seal opens, escape the explosion.

Mission 7: ‘All Roads Lead to Hell’, Chapter 4 - ‘Hitler's Welcome Party’
Most of this chapter takes place in a courtyard-like area, like a small park surrounded by buildings. There will be a lot of space to run around while you’re trying to eliminate snipers, spitters, officers, and armored giants. Shortly after you start, a couple of Butchers will also appear, followed by a few Flamers. And just when you think you’ve done, Wave 2 happens with suiciders, spitters, grenadiers and shadow demons. Try to take out the shadow demons as soon as possible or they’ll drain your health fast.

As you thin out the horde, more snipers will appear, then a few more suiciders, an officer, and two Heavy Gunners. Later on, more officers will appear (with one or more up on a rooftop), a zombie tank, which shoots flaming skulls which deal considerable damage, and a zombie half-track.

Once they’re all eliminated, enter the church and shoot the four officers performing the resurrection ceremony in the heart then finally Hitler.

Mission 8: ‘Hell Base’, Chapter 4 - ‘Steal the Relic’
After you leave the safe house, you will be in the relic room. Once you take the relic, you will be bombarded by snipers, heavies (all variations), suiciders, armored giants, officers and dozens of lesser zombies. There will also be a rift you need to close to prevent more zombies from spawning. Luckily, once you start thinning them out, it’s just a matter of picking them off until you are done.

Make your way to the roof and you will encounter two Flamers. Defeat them to open the gate seal. Now you must survive the horde as Schweiger opens the portal. Enemies will come at you at all sides. There will be grenadiers, suiciders, heavies, officers, armored giants and dozens of lesser zombies. At one point, a zombie tank will appear from the portal opening. There will also be a few rifts you will need to close as well. Eventually, Schweiger will open the portal.

Mission 9: ‘Hell Machine’, Chapter 1 - ‘Obliterate Hitler's Army’
There is only one chapter to this mission, but it’s a doozy. It’s basically four chapters-worth of enemies in one chapter. You will see multiples of every type of enemy, and even with two players, you’ll probably be playing stages numerous times, especially Stage 2 and 4. There is a lack of checkpoints too; basically complete a stage and you get a checkpoint, so if you’re playing co-op and you or your partner goes down and isn’t revived, the other player has to basically solo the stage. There is also a lack of medkits unless you randomly get a good amount of medic zombies (which happened in my run after failing Stage 2 about five times). This chapter is going to take you a while.

Like other chapters, use the heavy weapons to thin out the enemies so you can then concentrate on the mission objectives.

Stage 1 - As soon as you leave the safe house area, you are bombarded with everything expect shadow demons. The goal here is to just survive until the enemies stop spawning and you can continue to the next stage.

Stage 2 - Here is the first area where you will be spending a lot of time. The goal is to destroy five guns on the giant Hell Machine while avoiding every enemy in the game except snipers. Each gun takes an inordinate number of bullets before being destroyed (they will often close their shield before being destroyed but luckily they retain their damage when they open again) as well as firing flaming skulls which deal considerable damage. Numerous rifts will need to be closed, otherwise you will have to contend with hundreds of enemies, and as always, take out officers as soon as you notice them. Occasionally a Heavy MG is dropped into the area if you destroy the spotlights quick enough. You’re going to spend a lot of time just running around and herding the enemies before you get a chance at destroying the guns.

Stage 3 - Once inside the Hell Machine, you need to destroy four hearts, but first need to survive for a few minutes. There will be a lot of lesser zombies as well as Butchers and Flamers. Once the hearts appear, there will also be suiciders, armored giants, and even a shadow demon. Destroy the hearts as quickly as possible; three are accessible from the upper-most catwalk and the last one is one level below that.

When they are all destroyed, there will be a cutscene and you will emerge in a sewer. Here, just run to the waypoint and climb a ladder to the next stage. Note that if playing co-op, both players must climb the ladder.

Stage 4 - Back outside, you have to contend with the Hell Machine once more. This time, there are nine guns to destroy instead of five, and occasionally, a cannon will fire and drop bombs which could wipe out numerous enemies for you. Follow the same strategy as you did in Stage 2. Again, there are spotlights that if destroyed quickly, your allies will drop a needed heavy weapon into the area. Once you destroy all nine guns, the Hell Machine will finally explode. But you are not done yet.

Stage 5 - In this final stage, you will have to kill hundreds of manifestations of Hitler. It really seems never ending at first but luckily they act like regular zombies. Use any leftover heavy weapons you have in the area to kill them, and after about four minutes, they start to thin out. Once you kill the last Hitler, there will be a short cutscene with Hitler dropping out of his shield, so run towards him and press :1a: to perform a takedown. A cutscene will play with you beating him with the relic before jabbing it into his chest and defeating him once and for all.

DLC: Mission 7: Terminal Error (Store Link)

There are 1 achievements with a total of 10 points

  • Complete Terminal Error on any difficulty.

In this first mission of the third add-on campaign, you are parachuted in along the southwest coast of Italy to investigate a mysterious signal coming from a derelict site in the town of Magazzeno. You soon discover that it is the main facility for the Z5 cores that has evolved into a ‘hive mind’ called the Rachegeist. Your mission is to destroy the three core facilities at the site before entering the central dome and dismantling the communications hardware, exposing the neural cluster. After destroying the cluster, you will have completed your mission.

Note: This mission is spread out and more open than previous ones, allowing you to complete the three main tasks in any order you wish. Be warned that even if you are playing on Easy with a 1-player enemy setup, it can get overwhelming if playing solo or with one teammate. Even with three players, it can be tough.

This mission consists of just one chapter (instead of four like the previous DLC and base game missions) so there are no safe houses along the way. It can be played solo or with up to three teammates. Although there are collectibles in this chapter, there is no achievement for obtaining them. Simply play through the chapter on any difficulty and enemy setup to complete the mission and earn this achievement.

As you complete waves, you receive a small amount of XP, and as the waves increase, more difficult enemies will spawn. Survive until you have completed Wave 12 and you will have the option to escape. When you and your teammates (if any) do, the achievement will unlock.

DLC: Mission 8: Abaddon Asylum (Store Link)

There are 1 achievements with a total of 10 points

  • Complete Abaddon Asylum on any difficulty.

Continuing from Terminal Error, you recover from the wreckage of the Rachegeist facility the location of Baron Umbra, the mastermind behind the occult scheme. But it won’t be easy to reach him as he’s hidden in an Italian village protected by cultists and an occult shield enclosing the asylum. With the aid of a survivor named The Angel, you infiltrate the village and find your way through the protective barrier surrounding the asylum by destroying five occult rituals. Once that is done, enter the asylum, locate the Baron and defeat him once and for all.

This mission consists of two chapters and can be played solo or with up to three teammates. Although there are collectibles in each chapter, there is no achievement for obtaining them. Simply play through both chapters on any difficulty and enemy setup to complete the mission and earn this achievement.

DLC: Mission 9: Return to Hell (Store Link)

There are 1 achievements with a total of 10 points

  • Complete Return to Hell on any difficulty.

Picking up where Abaddon Asylum left off, Baron Umbra has pulled you into Hell itself. His ultimate plan is to conduct a ritual that will resurrect himself in Dr. Efram Schweiger’s body, who has succumbed to this evil occult’s power. Fighting your way through this nightmare, you must find a way to break the chains that hold Schweiger to this Hell by surviving twisted manifestations of his mind. With him finally freed, break the ritual before it is complete and put an end to the Baron once and for all. Is this finally the end?

Note: The three areas you fight through to break Schweiger’s chains are randomized. Also, this mission is very dark in some areas so you may begin to find yourself losing your way, so remember to use the compass. Also, be warned that unless you want a real challenge, play with teammates on Easy with a 1-player enemy setup as it can get overwhelming on higher difficulties, especially later in the mission.

This mission consists of just one chapter (instead of four like previous DLC and base game missions) so there are no safe houses along the way. It can be played solo or with up to three teammates. Although there are collectibles in this chapter, there is no achievement for obtaining them. Simply play through the chapter on any difficulty and enemy setup to complete the mission and earn this achievement.
