Zombie Driver Ultimate Edition is the updated version on the Xbox One of Zombie Driver HD from the 360. Zombie Driver UE contains all of the DLC added to the 360 version with extra vehicles, Blood Races and Slaughter maps. You play a taxi driver caught up in a zombie apocalypse, where the military use you to do their dirty work.
I'd recommend playing the game modes in the order listed below. This is because Story Mode unlocks vehicles for Blood Races and Blood Races unlock vehicles for Slaughter Mode.
The bulk of the achievements are tied up in Story Mode. 17 achievements worth 510 can only be obtained in this mode. Story Mode consists of 31 missions with primary and secondary objectives. Completing primary objectives allows you to progress in the story, completing secondary objectives gives you more money to upgrade your vehicles. Story Mode also unlocks vehicles for you to use in the games' other two modes, so it is prudent to play through this first.
Blood Race Mode:
Six achievements can only be obtained in this mode for 195. Blood Race Mode consists of six tournaments that you take part in. Each tournament has a number of events consisting of Race, Eliminator and Endurance. Races do what they say on the tin, you are racing against a number of opponents. Eliminator is an event where you have to destroy opponents whilst speeding around a track. Medals are given for the number of opponents you destroy. Endurance is an event where you have a bomb attached to the vehicle. You have a certain amount of time before it blows up but this time can be extended by hitting checkpoints, killing zombies and destroying boxes on the track. Medals are awarded depending on how long you last, the longer the better!
Slaughter Mode has six achievements for 220. The Mode consists of nine different maps, where you simply have to destroy wave after wave of zombies for as long as you can. You can't upgrade your vehicle before starting Slaughter Mode but collect upgrades on the map after each wave. Each map has a target score for you to get a gold medal, which you'll need for an achievement.
Finally, there are two miscellaneous achievements worth 75 that can be obtained in any Mode.
Welcome to the first title update to Zombie Driver Ultimate Edition for the Xbox One. This title update brings us an additional 500 in the form of eight achievements. While there are more achievements and more GS to be gathered, there is no new content added with the update. The achievements, if you are returning to this title update, simply make you re-do and farm out things from the three game modes that you have already completed. While the title update should not give you any trouble, or take a significantly long time, it is important to see what you have already done and plan out the best route, mission, or tip to finish off the remaining achievements.
The abbreviated walkthrough will remain relatively empty as there are really only two ways to tackle this update; you are either returning to the title update after already completing the original achievements, or you are doing it all for the first time. If you are in the former category, you may have already unlocked some of the achievements simply by coming back to the game as you already had the requirements from your initial playing. If this is the case then you should have no problem trimming down the rest of the achievements you have left and cleaning up the update in no time at all.
Even if this is your first time playing through the game and thus the title update, the achievements themselves should not take you any more than three hours. You won't really need to keep an eye on any of the achievements, but if you find that after completing the three modes you are still missing some achievements, simply refer to the specific achievement's guide and see where the best location, or the best tip is to completing it with minimal hassle involved.
And there we have it ladies and gents, another title update polished off and a few hundred gamerscore added to our purse. You should have been able to easily breeze through the eight new achievements in no time with the help of the specific achievements' guides. While there is no new content the new achievements and additional GS add some replayability to a game in desperate need of some. Get yourself ready because there is a second title update adding even more achievements and GS that will need to be plowed through.
Welcome to the second of two title updates coming out for Zombie Driver Ultimate Edition. Like the previous title update, there is no new content, but there is now 2000 available with this update adding an additional 500. This time we have some large cumulative achievements to tackle, and a few from both blood race and slaughter mode. Just like the last title update, if you already meet the requirements for the achievements they will unlock in game without having to re-do them all. You should be looking at a very quick title update even if you are starting it from scratch with the game as you will end up working toward the achievements as you progress through the different modes of the game.
Much like the first title update, this time around you will be working off of whatever you have left if you are returning to the game; or if this is your first time, working through the number of kills and pick ups you have left. All-in-all it is important to note story mission levels that will help you really reach that 1-3 hour completion time range. As there are two possibilities for how you work through this title update, I will leave the walkthrough section relatively open and suggest you focus on each achievement's guide instead as the missions and tricks are found there.
If you are working through everything for the first time I definitely suggest keeping an eye for money drops throughout the story mode as 250 for "Finders keepers" can be quite an amount if you are going back to it without many in the first place. The slaughter and blood race achievements will be easy enough and should actually come without much extra farming required.
And with the completed second title update you should now have your Zombie Driver Ultimate Edition up to a whopping 2000. Like the previous title update, if you are returning to the game after already completing it you may have the prerequisites already unlocked for many of the achievements. Hopefully with some mindless farming and a little bit of planning you were able to walk away from this update unscathed and a few hundred gamerscore higher. Until next time we battle the hordes!
