Bungie has declared that the annual Guardian Games Event is set to return to Destiny 2 from next week, reigniting the friendly competition between Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans, in a quest for glory. As ever, you'll earn medallions for all manner of activities, including a class-based version of PvP mode, Supremacy.
Two Guardian Games weapons will be available to earn as rewards, including the Legendary ‘Taraxippos’ Legendary Strand Scout Rifle (Strand Darkness being the new Guardian subclass introduced for Destiny 2: Lightfall), and Void Submachine Gun ‘The Title’, complete with fan-favourite perk, Repulsor Brace.
All participating playes can also nab the Guardian Games Event Card, while completing challenges on the card will unlock cosmetic rewards like a new Exotic emote, a new Champ title, and extra Triumphs. You can upgrade the card for 1,000 Silver to unlock instant and bonus rewards to earn.
Additionally, the Guardian Games Cup makes a comeback, except this time everyone can join in. You can assemble your fireteam to take part in the Guardian Games Cup 2023, and earn money for charity while you're at it, taking part in either the Technical or Charitable category, each with their own set of prizes on offer. They are as follows:
Top team in the Technical category: custom art of your fireteam by PherianArt
Top team in the Charitable category: custom art of your fireteam by Gammatrap
Top two teams in the Technical and Charitable categories: Guardian Games Pendant ($200 MSRP)
