Having previously declared that it was to shutdown the servers for NBA 2K11 later this month, 2K Sports has decided to extend the active period until April 2012, presumably in reponse to fan reaction and the continuing issues with NBA 2K12's online components.
It was only last week that 2K made the announcement to close the NBA 2K11 servers, a mere 13 months after the game's release, leading some fans to be confused and angry as to why the online aspects of the game were being axed so soon. Our very own Mr. Lee Bradley wrote a feature on it recently.
NBA 2K11 has My Crew and Online Leagues, as well as more reliable online connections than its successor, which is subject to several patches as its online troubles persist due to it's new codebase. 2K has posted a list of servers that will remain active until April 2012 for its sports titles, which bizarrely includes NBA 2K5. Go figure...
