Word puzzler Quarrel hits XBLA today and to celebrate UTV Ignition has released a new trailer and some screens.

Based on the iOS original, Quarrel is a fearsomely colourful game that looks set to test yo mad wordplay skillz. Let's see if all those years watching Countdown will pay off, eh? As well as a single-player mode, you can also get to grips with online multiplayer for 2-4 players. No local multiplayer though, oddly.

Available right now, Quarrel will set you back just 400 MSP. Check out the trailer and some screens below (the anagram was PERVERTS, aparently) and burn your eyes with vibrance in the game's gallery.

  • I'll be one of the few getting this!
  • I'll give this a go. Might blow chunks, but a good brain teaser is nice to have.
  • Maybe sold. I'll wait until the video lets me watch it.
  • So it's like Risk but instead of rolling dice you make words out of a group of letters. Sounds...interesting.
  • Looks fun. It'll probably be looked over by most people though since most gamers only care about lame ass Call of Duty games.
  • Wow, for a game like that to have no local MP... I guess I'll pass on this one, was only looking forward to showing off my wits against my family and friends. Would hate to be owned by 10 year old like in all the modern shooters=P
  • Agree with above, big let down with no local MP. My wife and I have played all the Family Game Nights excessively just because they are local MP.
  • Its 400 points so I'm gonna throw it in the "maybe" pile. But damn that no local MP to hell...
  • I woul dhave bought this for the local MP, just seems pointless without it.
  • The anagram was PERVERTS? I'm sold
  • how in the world do you people think this game would work with local, what would be the point of going head to head to see who could make the best word if you could see exactly what word the person your going head to head with was making? if you want to play with a buddy just play as a team when you go online or with the computer
  • Not overly impressed. Seemed like the game's dictionary was full of words created for the game. Drybeats anyone?
  • I didn't know there was a Pegi 3...
