Inversion Vids and Screens Offer an Anti-Grav Twist on Multiplayer

Namco Bandai has released a whole bunch of new screens and videos featuring Inversion's multiplayer modes.

The main event comes in the form of three different vids, each taking a different multiplayer mode as its focus and each showing how the game's unique anti-grav mechanics are implemented.

"Gravity Slaughter" challenges you with taking out your enemies using gravity powers, "King of Gravity" charges you with obtaining a Gravlink - the object that gives you your Newton-bothering abilities - and "Team Deathmatch" is just Team Deathmatch... but stuff is upside down sometimes.

You can find a selection of screens below, with more in the gallery. All three videos are below too. Or are they above!? No they're below.

Inversion was recently delayed. It's now out on March 27th.

  • Being able to freeze your opponents in place looks a bit overpowered in a gears of war style 3rd person shooter but when limited to one person in King of Gravity it may have promise.
  • Not to sound like an ass or anything but this looks extremely boring...
  • this game looks like a ripoff from dead space zero gravity chambers with gears of war executions ... definitely lack in originality
  • @3 - So now any game which uses Zero Gravity and Executions is a rip off. Wow.
  • Have no interest in a game like this. Will be on sale in a month
  • @3 one thing this game doesn't lack is originality. If you'd been following the history of this game you'd already know that.
  • #4 and #6 well ... it looks cool and all ... far from me say it will be a bad game, it have his crowd ... but nobody can say that it isn't a ripoff
  • Why is any game that uses a mechanic that's even remotely close to another game always classified as a ripoff...
  • @7 - You are aware, by saying that you're also contradicting yourself? I'm pretty sure Gears wasn't the first game to feature executions. Does that make it a ripoff? And I'm also pretty sure Dead Space wasn't the first game to have Zero Gravity in its gameplay. Does that make it a ripoff?
  • Hi calm down some of you guys. This game might not rip off once reviews up then you realise or maybe correct ripoff then!!! No need judge this until reviews!!! Look forward game so much. I don't care if ripoff. Game will be fun to play and earn achievements on way in playthrough. :D
  • @10, LOL at the literal Chinese translation, or whatever that is!
  • Wow... Looks just like dead space to me.. 0_0
  • This looks OK, but nothing too special tbh. Plot is so,so from what I've heard and gameplay does not stand out. I also expect this to drop down in price in a month or two following release, but I will probably pass on it altogether.
  • Damn, this looks crappy. Shame. I'll just check the single player.
  • The mechanics look neat. I dont know if I want a game that takes everything I'm familiar with and throw it on the ground/air whatever...
  • As long as the shooting mechanics are not like the crappy shooting mechanics in the Uncharted games then i'm ok
  • Shattered Horizon was pretty fun, if thats anything to go by. Adding a 3rd dimension of movement can really add a lot of depth to a shooter (no pun intended).
  • The announcer sounds like RoboCop.
  • this game looks pretty sweet. I wish they would delay it to give it a little more polish though. It just seems to lack a little something. long marathons would get pretty stale, i'd imagine. it reminds me of a lost planet/gears of war/unreal tournament mash up, which is a totally awesome thing. I can't wait to do some ceiling sniping. :)
  • Is this an arcade game? I hope so because the graphics and level design look pretty sparse!
  • I don't know where everyone is getting it looks like Dead Space. It looks a fair amount like GOW, I gotta say... I hope it doesn't rip that much. Multiplayer... I hope that the no music isn't a thing in the final version. That's just outright boring, IMO. Realistic, but boring.
