Peter Fox, pls...Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 03:55 AM
I was going to buy Overstrike because it looks quite funny Like borderlands. I aint buying Fuse because well Fuse as the title sounds pretty crap and they made it a more serious 3rdPS. Pause it at the 00:44 mark and the AI looks close to bf bad company 2 mulsplayer charactersFriday, September 14, 2012 @ 04:03 AM
Yeah Overstrike looked way more stylized and exciting...Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 04:39 AM

I can picture the meeting at Insomniac. "Hey, instead of bright colors, a stylized look, and some humor, let's go for dull colors, realism, and a completely serious tone. Cause no one is doing that!" Kinda disappointed in the direction they're going with this one to be honest.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 05:48 AM
Reading the other comments, glad to know I'm not the only one who preferred the former style. Game will likely still be a blast, but the original style had so much more personality.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 06:01 AM
It looks OK but I still would have preferred Overstrike.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 06:06 AM
Whatever, gamers humour blows. Looks similar to VANQUISH so it seems right up my alley, although I said the same thing about Binary Domain before I played the demo.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 06:15 AM
ehhh i always support insomniac and loved most of their games so far so i'll give this one a shot too i guessFriday, September 14, 2012 @ 06:31 AM
boooooring!!! so insomniac is a ps3 dev that creates the same common shitty shooters as the xbox ones do, btw i have an xbox not a ps3 i just think ps3 games are more unique in terms of gameplay and mechanicsFriday, September 14, 2012 @ 07:30 AM
WTF did I just watch? All I saw was a "hide behind this big ass shield" game.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 07:49 AM
i was just thinking "what the games industry needs is more shooters"Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 07:51 AM
Plan B on a trailer for an American made game is... surprising.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 08:29 AM
Overstrike looked funnier and less like all these "we're trying to be serious" games, which in turn, make them boring and have no character.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 09:20 AM
@13 - I thought it was Hadouken! haha XDFriday, September 14, 2012 @ 09:21 AM
Sadface, I was really looking forward to Overstrike after the VGA trailer. Even without gameplay the setup and characters showed a lot of promise. Now I can wait for Fuse to hit the discount bin...Insomniac or no. I'm really getting tired of publishers and designers assuming what gamers are going to want. 95% of the time they opt for fails like Star Wars Kinect instead of the games we really want to play.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 11:45 AM
As soon as I heard Plan B I had to turn it off, I can't stand that wigga.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 12:03 PM
We'll see. It looks like they took it in a very different direction from their first trailer. It's grittier and gorier, with a focus on making everything look 'normal.' Some of the characters downgraded their over-the-top status and lost what made them really unique. It's a shame. To clarify, there is in fact a fine line between over-the-top creativity and ridiculous design from lack of artistic creativity. I believe that this game was on the positive end of the spectrum. Reasons why I think they changed: 1 - The (let's call him Team Leader)'s shield could have borne too great a resemblance to the vanguard shield in MassEffect. Though honestly I don't think it was that close. It could be a desire to distinguish it from the hardlight shield in Halo4 or any number of other sci-fi games. 2 - Several other posters have brought up the point that it could become associated with and possibly compared to Borderlands2 with 4 unique teammates in cooperative play and a cartoony style. Borderlands2 is slated to be a huge success and the comparison by gamers could hurt this game's sales. 3 - Military shooters are extremely popular, always sell well, and using an established graphics engine saves money. Here's hoping they kept the personalities the same under those changing faces.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 04:00 PM
To bad they dropped the overstrike concept, but well some caracters in fuse look kinda simular to those shoed in overstrike. But hey its a squad based 3th person shooter and its prob or hopefull co-op so thats good enough for me, it def not looks bad so i def give this a go, i mean honest i heared ppl saying binary domain wasn,t much but i totaly enjoyed evey second of it. And with all those special "fuse" weapons it sure looks fun.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 04:39 PM
Looks pretty fun.Somewhat looks like Gears of War but that can be a good thing.Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 10:36 PM
Not sure about this one. Seems to be taking itself too seriously. I liked the lighter, more humorous tone of Overstrike more.Saturday, September 15, 2012 @ 10:36 PM
This game = Prototype 2 + military shooter. Awesome! Now I can safely go back to sleep and never care about this game ever again!!

Here’s the first proper trailer for Insomniac’s first multiplatform title, Fuse.
From the studio that created the Ratchet & Clank, Spyro and Resistance series, Fuse began life as Overstrike. Now, following the release of yesterday’s screenshots we get to see the shooter in action.
“Fuse demonstrates what Insomniac does best: outlandish and gruesome weapons design, over-the-top action and a touch of humour,” Insomniac Games’ Founder and CEO, Ted Price said yesterday.
“We’re especially excited to see how players utilise lethal teamwork by combining their Fuse weapons to stop a deadly arms race.”
Fuse is out in March 2013. You can find out a little bit more about the game here.
