Sony! :PWednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:09 AM
It'll probably turn out as badly as Crackdown 2 anyway. Microsoft lay all their IPs to ruin.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:11 AM
"Bottom right" you mean "Bottom left" :)Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:12 AM
OT: Maybe Crackdown 3 might actually have 4 player co-op :)Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:12 AM
"The homage to Crackdown in the [bottom right hand corner of the image below]" Shouldn't that be Bottom left? OT, I never played Crackdown, but I'm all for a new on on the One, they looked good, but I never really got into them back then.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:13 AM
Side note: shouldn't it be "bottom *left* hand corner of the image"? I'd love to see a next-gen Crackdown game!Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:15 AM
@3 & 5 - Yes. Yes, I do mean left. Excuse me while I flip my brain around.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:16 AM
Pandemic will rise from the ashes and save us all!Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:19 AM
If they keep it more like the original Crackdown (fun as dicks) and not the sequel (bored me to tears) I'll be the first in for both the game and the console.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:19 AM
Yeah, 4 player Co-Op or don't bother.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:20 AM
Hope a new Crackdown is in development. Fun games especially in co op.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:20 AM
I don't care what happens to it as long as they bring back the 'transforming' cars when you level up Driving Skill.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:21 AM
Yeah I'd want a return to a regular city instead of the rundown, infested city of crackdown 2. But, as long as it has the same gameplay, I'm there.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:21 AM
Skills for kills, agent, skills for kills...Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:26 AM
I'm sorry but who wants 4 player coop, you guys are thinking too small. I want 8 player coop if not more, and with the cloud on it side. Crackdown 3 could be epicWednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:27 AM
Voliton could make a killer Crackdown, honestly.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:29 AM
New graphics, same combat, new city = AwesomeWednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:36 AM
As long as it's not Ruffian, that's fine. C2 was absolutely awful, yes the co-op was decent at best and there were nice touches like the wingsuit - which was definitely a well implemented simple mechanic but it had nowhere near the level of fun as the first game.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:40 AM
Crackdown 2 was 4 player coop wasn't it? Maybe I'm wrong and blocking that mess of a game out. Why can't they just get the people who made crackdown 1 even thought realtime worlds is no more.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:45 AM
I can imagine this being a massive open world with loads of Agents running and jumping around.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:49 AM
@16 - so long as they don't make the game with anal probes, I've love to play the game in this ass loving nanny state.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:55 AM
Look at all that ad space on those menu pages.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 09:03 AM
@16 They already are, it's called Saints Row IV.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 09:04 AM
Gamecom here we come? I wonder why Spencer was wearing so many Crackdown t-shirts under his suit...Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 09:06 AM
@#7 No worries Richie :)Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 09:09 AM
@#19 yes Crackdown 2 was 4 player co-op :) however i do agree with yourself, bring it back to an old scholl level like the first game.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 09:24 AM
Can't wait! Loved both Crackdowns (one of the very few that actually liked Crackdown 2 :P) and will definetly get this one. Hopefully it'll have a new city this time, with different gangs and those awesome transforming Agency cars from the original.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 09:59 AM
Crackdown....Online? Anyone?Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 10:00 AM
Crackdown 3 with 16 player co-op.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 10:09 AM
Damn shame. I'm probably going for the PS4, but if this turns out to be great, then I will reconsider it. Crackdown 2 was nice enough and doubt they can make the 3rd any worse. It's all going forward for Crackdown now, hopefullyWednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 10:43 AM
What I like to said about Crackdown series. They so fun, funny and crazy as hell. I really enjoyed with Crackdown series. Crackdown 2 is much better because got lots of improved of course. Now I think Crackdown 3 should have same many things from 1 and 2 but should in new city with biggest scale around islands then before. Same abilities you used in 1 and 2 but come with improves and add new abilities. New look gang and cop enemies. They can bring back zombies and infected if they want. Don't mind. Now I hope they add you to allow dive underwater seas just like GTA V got. There you can swims in 1 and 2 but I alway wish go underwater seas and get Orbs hidden around underwater seas and fights with strange enemies living inside sea. Will be good. Drive plane and boats this time and have races around and collect orbs with it not only car, on-foot or glide. Will nice add those. :) Maybe have better water effects on seas. They look okay in 1 and 2 but I will loved watch beatiful seas water effects hehehe.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 10:53 AM
Could be crackdown 2 devs working on it in secret ;) lol doubt it tho haha :/Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 11:41 AM
How many people are making the noise of orbs as they read this article. I know I am!Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 11:49 AM
Crackdown 3 should have an extremely large new city, an actual story, better AI, more variety in vehicles and guns, 8 player campaign co-op. Would also love to see an online mode with 32-64 player co-op in a persistent online world. Every 24 real-world hours a new world starts and players have to keep the enemies from over running the city for those 24 hours. Obviously no one has all day to do that but players can drop in and out of worlds. If there aren't enough players in the world the city gets overrun and a new world starts.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 01:46 PM
Unless it's an improvement from the second one, Just forget it (But if it turns out to be bad, it would make for a great Rage Quit episode on RoosterTeeth).Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 01:51 PM
Better to keep some things for later, you don't want to play all your cards at once.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 01:54 PM
good that ruffian is not working on it crackdown 2 was dog shitWednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 02:59 PM
call me crazy, but I guess I'm the only guy on the planet, who didn't care for Crackdown 1 at all, but absolutely loved Crackdown 2. I had so much fun playing that game with my friend. Getting everything on my agent maxed, collecting absolutely everything, the toy box dlc. That game was awesome. But I dunno, people just hate on it, for no apparent reason really. I hope Crackdown 3 is more like 2 than 1.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 04:09 PM
I would prefer the game to be more serious like the first. Zombies were cool but meh.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 07:05 PM
Playing Crackdown just, and absolutely love it. Over the top jumping ability makes this more fun than I could have imagined. Bargain £7 price, and as for the orbs, I thought 500 was stupid, but I have just 99 to go now, so I should be able to do them all. I can see co op being a whole load of fun. As for a 3rd game, I would welcome that. If I can afford an Xbox One that is.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 08:15 PM
Granted I wasn't too excited about the second game (still thoroughly enjoyed it), I would gladly welcome a Crackdown 3 to my collection! :)Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 11:49 PM
Also, what is that Rare game in the bottom RIGHT corner, and the tile right above it looks somewhat like a set piece from Gears of War, maybe? Interesting.Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 11:50 PM
@40 Well hopefully you've been following a guide if you want to get all the orbs. My brother found all but 2 on his playthrough, and it took him about 2 years of playing on and off to finally find those! :)Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 11:54 PM
@22 Are you being sarcastic? I see no ads.Thursday, June 27, 2013 @ 05:40 AM
If you notice everything that's there has been revealed ... IE halo, kinect rivals, forza 5 and so on Surely that symbol is an app or somethingThursday, June 27, 2013 @ 09:59 PM
Best news I've heard in months

That agility orb from Crackdown shown during Microsoft's Xbox One reveal back on May 21st (pictured in the bottom left hand corner of the image below) was apparently no accident and was completely intentional, according to Microsoft Studios VP Phil Spencer, hinting that a new Crackdown could be on the way for Xbox One.
"Oh... Crackdown is one of my favourite games, and not just because it's a Microsoft first-party game," Said Spencer. "I have a lot of love for that franchise. The homage to Crackdown in the reveal screenshots was... I know there was some, like, 'Did we accidentally sneak that...?' It wasn't accidental. Definitely."
Quizzed as to whether he believes there's still life in the Crackdown series, Spencer added: "No, I don't think Crackdown is dead at all. It's a franchise that's still close to me."
Spencer then went on to allude to a new Crackdown coming to Xbox One, making use of the ubiquitous cloud: "For me, the natural progression for a game like Crackdown - and you see this showing up on our stage - is in these living, open worlds that live in the cloud," he said.
But with Crackdown dev Realtime Worlds shuttered and Crackdown 2 dev Ruffian Games not working on Crackdown 3, who will make the next Crackdown title is completely open to speculation. Who will make the next Crackdown game? Discuss.
