Harmonix’s upcoming Kinect-powered Fantasia: Music Evolved has a release date. The game hits Xbox One and Xbox 360 on October 21st in North America and, presumably, October 24th in Europe.

Described as "a mixture of motion, music and animation", Fantasia: Music Evolved features a mix of classical tracks and contemporary artists, including over 30 tracks from artists such as Depeche Mode, Avicii, The Who and MIA.

"In The Neighborhood, players will work their way through a restrained 2D urban cityscape, using music and magic to unleash a vibrant and magical 3D environment by interacting with billboards, rooftops, trains and other surprises hidden within the city landscape," explains Harmonix of the latest trailer. You can see it below.

  • still might pick this up for my daughter (she is not quite old enough yet) but seems fun for kids to play not sure how good kinect will pick this up in a smaller room
  • Dated for December, yet releases on Oct.21?
  • I feel horrible for this game. It needed to be a launch title to be successful, now that its not coming till October and optional Kinect this poor game is set up to fail
  • They do know there are 11 other months in the year, right? They are sending this out to die
  • @3 while it is a bummer that Kinect is optional now, it was optional on the 360 and dance central did well.
  • @5 that's because the 360 had a large user base and many got duped into buying a kinect (me included)
  • I expected so much more out of Harmonix. This game is going to flop with the worst of em.. They should have put all the money from this into Amplitude instead in my opinion.
  • They should of did another guitar hero. I know there trying new things and all but WTF! Is this? I don't want it to happen to them but, this game is going to be the biggest fail of the year...I think so atleast...
  • Sadly, I've got to agree with the others. This game had a chance, but Xbox removing the "integral" Kinect has effectively killed it. Is Harmonix working on anything else? If not, RIP
  • Ive loved harmonix since guitar hero this might be the first game of theirs i dont get 1st week (probably be $15 on Black Friday) ill just wait for Dance Central X1
  • wtf!? not interested in this game anymore after watching the video....
  • @8 Harmonix hasn't owned the Guitar Hero name since 2007.
  • I know what everyone saying is true, MS killed this IP, there fake promise to developers that kinect is included in every box made them make this and there reverse decision will hurt tons of delivers, this and rare was the biggest blow. I feel sorry for them, I will pick, this I quite enjoyed child of Eden and may end up enjoying this also As it also seems unique but still.....it's destined to fail :(
  • I still have no idea what this game does.
