Yesterday at E3 2015, Telltale and Skybound announced the next installment of The Walking Dead will launch this autumn on PC/Mac, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, iOS and Android.

Called The Walking Dead: Michonne - A Telltale Games Mini-Series, the game is made up of three episodes and follows the events of issues #126 and #139 of the comics. You will need at least the first episode of The Walking Dead: Season Two to play, similar to 400 Days being an add-on for the first season.

According to Telltale, Michonne is “haunted by her past and coping with unimaginable loss and regret. Players will discover what took Michonne away from Rick, Ezekiel, and the rest of her trusted group… and what brought her back.”

"In many ways, Michonne herself is a reflection of the world of The Walking Dead,” said The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. “She is brutal and cold on the outside, but deep beneath what is broken, she remains hopeful, trying to claw her way out of the darkness that surrounds her."

"In our effort to bring the world of the comic and the world of the Telltale series closer together, there is no greater character than Michonne to help bridge that gap."

  • So that's why she was missing in the comics for so long. Its good that the game has a big enough status that they can do crossovers.
  • Clementine for TV show. Clementine for TV show.
  • Telltale seem to be stretching themselves pretty thin with all these other games in the works. I mean how long has it taken to get ep3 of Tales from the Borderlands after that started?
  • @3: Like 6-7 months. It's ridiculous.
  • At least they're calling it a mini series and not a game. Cause it isn't
  • I really wish Telltale would do one episodic series at a time and release a new episode every 1-2 months. Their current development time is getting ridiculous.
  • I'm not sold. Telltales GoT, whilst good, suffers somewhat due to having to adhere to a pre-established narrative, something that this is also going to have to do. I find Telltales style works best when they're not constricted by canon and can do what they want, ie. TWD 1.
  • So I guess since I rented the season 2 game and have since deleted it I'm screwed?
  • Telltale games are losing their appeal, in my opinion. Too many series announced, a lot of filler (Game of Thrones episode 2 felt like that until the end) and choices that don't really feel too special anymore.
  • Agree with everyone saying that Telltale has too much on their plate. I'd much prefer if they worked on just one technically sub-par game at a time.
  • How about finishing borderlands and game of thrones before working on yet ANOTHER episodic game? Yawn.
  • They need to crack down and work on 1 or 2 at a time, rather then a jumble, then once one projects done, move to the next so we can have a reliable schedule, as opposed to the current chaos.
  • Instead of making episodes so far apart. Complete them all, then release one a month, so they can work on other projects. Or just make one complete game. The waiting is getting ridiculous
  • Awesome, i know people moan about the wait between episodes in Telltale seasons but Borderlands aside ive ALWAYS waited till the season is complete before playing it personally. These episodes do take forever it feels at times but they quality is so high they are worth the wait - as such i will grab this likewise when the third and final episode is announced. It also shows how much respect RK and co have for the studio that they actually get to do canon filler for the comic series, a high privilege and honour indeed.
  • As much as I would like for them to finish one game before starting another, honeslty as far as I'm concerned any telltale game news is good news. I think I've reached a point where I'll literally play anything they develop. Yeah it takes a stupid amount of time between episodes but I have other games to play in between. Having a new episode of something they've done every once in a while is nice.
