The Fullbright Company has announced that Gone Home: Console Edition will at long last be making its way to Xbox One and PS4 in January 2016, presenting players with the chance to explore the story-driven indie game that made a big name for itself on PC.

"The ways that Gone Home has connected with so many people on a personal, emotional level just means the world to us. And so our goal with bringing the game to consoles wasn’t to alter or add extraneous stuff onto an experience that already holds a special place in so many players’ hearts," says Fullbright co-founder Steve Gaynor on the PS Blog.

"Instead, it’s been our mission to translate the original PC version as perfectly as we can, tailoring the game to feel native to new platforms. We’re going the extra mile to make this the very best Gone Home experience you could hope for – and we’re so excited for the [console] audience to discover the game’s mysteries anew as they explore the House on Arbor Hill."

Gone Home: Console Edition will also include behind-the-scenes developer commentary, and will be heading to Xbox One and PS4 on 13th January 2016.

  • Is this one of those fabled walking simulators? No, thank you?
  • Ye gods. THIS? Ugh.
  • I actually enjoy these experiences. Maybe not for $20 if it's the same price as steam, but on sale it'll be a nice evening away from all the action games we play.
  • I guess I'm a lot different than most of the commenters above. I really loved this game on PC and thought it lead a captivating narrative and I can't wait to play it again for achievements! I've also seen a lot of comments online as well about this being a sjw game and I'm just not seeing it. I'm against sjw's as much as the next healthy normal person but just because one of this games main characters is a lesbian doesn't make it a preachy and annoying experience. If you love great story focused games and interactive mysteries this game is for you!

  • Yes! I've been waiting for a couple years for this.
  • You can actually complete this game in 40 seconds. No joke.
  • Have heard very good things about this game, although everyone who has said it was great also said it cost too much for what it is.
  • LOVED this game. It was such a welcome breath of fresh air among the endless stream of shooters. I'll be buying this game on both PS4 and Xbox because Fullbright is a fantastic group of people who deserve the support. People who write off games like this as "walking simulators" should try expanding their horizons and give it a chance, and at the very least, it should be an easy 1k.
  • Yeah. No.

  • @8: I had to google that. He purposely chose a setting in the options to unlock every door in the house and then went straight to the item that ends the game. Not exactly the way the game was meant to be played. :/
  • I might check this out...I've heard it's a little SJWish, but I've also heard it's similar to Life is Strange, which I love
  • @2 hey now walking Sims are fun if done right, GTA 5 for example :D lol
  • Yay, another artsy fartsy walking sim.
  • i wonder what the achievement are gonna be like
  • Well its not really my cup of tea granted. But If it went on sale I would probably pick it up. Just for something different for the collection.
  • Fallout 4 260% better times than this shit game. :P
  • They apparently want $20 for this.

  • @19 Yeah, comparing a game made by a gigantic studio versus one made by four people. Glad you thought that one through.
  • I thought this game could have been so good. It seemed kinda tense and there some horror themes going on but it turned out to be a pretentious piece of garbage.
  • I enjoyed it, was a nice game my ex joined in on
  • This game touched me a bit when I played it on PC. I for one will definitely be buying this simply for the easy achievement list and nostalgia. Odd it took them this long to port it though.
