Previously pencilled in for an April launch on consoles, 505 Games and developer Kunos Simulazioni have today announced that racing sim Assetto Corsa has been delayed and will now see the chequered flag in June.

The additional development time will apparently ensure that "the console release delivers the most polished experience for simulation racing fans," says Kuno Simulazioni, with the game emphasising a focus on "pure physics realism" and laser-measured tracks.

Assetto Corsa on consoles will feature 90 high-performance cars such as the Team Lotus 98T, the Pagani Zonda R, the Ferrari LaFerrari, the Mercedes C9 and the McLaren 650S GT3, as well as 27 track configs including Silverstone Circuit, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Autodromo Nazionale Monza, and Nürburgring-Nordschleife.

You'll be able to get behind the wheel of Assetto Corsa when it launches for Xbox One and PS4 on 3rd June in Europe and 7th June 2016 in North America. Check out our gameplay video below. Vroooooom!

  • This looks to me like a true race-sim experience. If it's anything like Forza with the assists turned off...no thanks. Even getting a couple of the achievements in Forza 6 with assists turned off was head-poundingly annoying. I don't mind a little realism sprinkled in, but I don't really like the 'true' race experience.
  • This is beginning to sound like Project Cars already so let's hope it doesn't turn out like it and disappoint… will hold off on a day one purchase this time until I read some reviews after its released.
  • Glad it got delayed back.Too many games out these next 2 months so it'll give me more time with it out in june. Also no good to put out a broken game.
  • I've been looking into buying project cars. Can someone explain why most people don't have anything good to say about it? What did they do to that game :O
  • @2 fully agree i got sucked into the project cars hype aswell @4 although the game was delayed numerous times it was flawed badly mainly xbox one with a control glitch that rendered it virtually unplayable the rumour was microsoft held back one of the patches to fix the many bugs as it coincided with the release of forza 6 bugs included ai drivers not being held up when going of road ai drivers not needing to pit when it started raining ai drivers lapping faster in the wet than you could in the dry dont get me wrong i loved the idea of project cars and the tracks and day to night were lovely most of the fanbase soon went and never came back dont think slightly mad studios knew what potential they had with this title
