Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s next DLC pack will be called Eclipse and it’s set to arrive in May on Xbox One, Activision has announced. It's not coming to Xbox 360.

Eclipse will feature four multiplayer maps; Spire, Rift, Knockout, and a remake of Bonzai from World at War called Verge. You’ll also be able to get stuck into a new chapter in the Zombies saga, Zetsubou No Shima, set in an undead World War II Pacific theater.

There's more info below. Xbox owners have to wait a month longer than PlayStation owners to get hold of Eclipse, thanks to Activision's shift in allegiences with regards to timed exclusive DLC content. 

Multiplayer Maps

  • Spire: Spire takes Multiplayer combat to a futuristic sub-orbital airport terminal set high in the clouds. Multiple levels and open areas promote intense, mid-range combat around a clean, high-tech civilian environment. Watch your step, because one wrong move could send you plummeting back through the stratosphere.

  • Rift: Head to the core of a harsh futuristic military complex, set high above an active caldera. Rift funnels and forces tight, intense engagements, where the only way through is forward. Utilize the unique core movement opportunities to outsmart and outplay enemies as you traverse the suspended rail system.

  • Knockout: Housed in a traditional Shaolin Temple with a retro twist, Knockout sets the stage for a bloody Kung Fu tournament. This mid-sized map showcases a sharp contrast between the mid-range engagements of the traditional exterior architecture and the tight close-quarters of an eclectic 1970’s styled interior.

  • Verge: In this re-imagination of the classic Call of Duty: World at War map, Banzai, Verge drops Multiplayer combat into the center of a distant post-apocalyptic future, where two warring factions are entrenched in constant battle. Take control of the key bridge, fortresses, tunnel systems and waterfalls as you engage in high-speed action through this medium-sized map.

Zombies Episode: Zetsubou No Shima

The Origins characters continue on their mission to stop the zombie apocalypse not only in this universe but in all universes. Our heroes find themselves stranded on a remote Pacific island which is home to the Division 9 facility: a secret biological research lab whose experiments with Element 115 and its effects on human, animal, and plant biology has created horrors beyond belief. Zetsubou No Shima features a foliage rich island map including new terrifying zombie enemies, a variety of innovative transport mechanics, more devastating traps and classic Zombies side quests.

  • Gah, more maps where you can fall to your death. Who enjoys that really? Remake of Banzai might be good, but Dome and Airfield were much better WaW maps in my opinion. Also no free weapons for season pass holders. Thanks Activision.
  • I fell off this game so hard. Super futuristic games are so meh to me. Especially shooters. Minus Halo. Wish they'd go back to a more realistic time like CoD 4. Hell, just remake CoD4 and MW2.
  • I got the Season pass so...eh, I'll play them at least once. The Zombie maps excite me more.
  • @3 me too, regret season pass if I'm being honest though. The image for Verge looks like Castle from WaW. Can just about remember Bonzai, it was that one with the caverns that lead to a really high bridge. Anyway, not excited in the slightest, I hate the futuristic stuff. Last map pack sucked balls, the maps were as creative as a potato.

  • @3 @4 You guys want to talk about creativity and Halo? I haven't seen an engaging map in multiplayer for any game since Halo 3. Remember when you could open gates and teleporters and there were land mines and shit? Everything could turn the tides of the battle? Map interactivity is the key to keeping a game going in my opinion. Point and shoot being the only element to the game causes every game to feel the same to me. With different elements like weapons on the map, open this or that door......do you remember the weather effects in Gears of War? Today, everything is rushed and boring. Rooms, windows, doors. Every map is the same map in a different color.
