Indie developer Playniac has announced that its turn-based, 'rogue-lite' 2D strategy game Insane Robots will be coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC in early 2017. The game features local and online multiplayer, as well as customisable robots.

In Insane Robots, you choose your robot then explore "Hunger Games-style" randomly-generated arenas where you'll battle for survival against "fiendish" AI opponents in skirmishes to win tokens. The game - developed by a 10-man team in East London - has already won plaudits from fellow devs and the IndieCade jury.

"Join the rebellion to overthrow the Kernel and save robotkind. Master the battle deck to become an Insane Robots master and compete head-to-head in local and online multiplayer. Customise your robots with over 100 augments. Unlock memory fragments to discover the terrible truth behind the arenas," reads the game's description.

  • I'm honestly kind of getting tired of rogue-lite games but this one does look pretty interesting
