Patrick Bach, general manager at EA DICE in Sweden, is leaving the studio, it's been announced. Bach has been part of DICE for almost 15 years, and has been instrumental in the Battlefield and Battlefront titles.

Bach has made a statement about his departure from the company:

“I’ve had an epic ride at DICE and EA, filled with amazingly creative and passionate people, and unforgettable experiences with our player community. I’ll certainly be playing Battlefield 1 for a long, long time to come, and I look forward to seeing what’s next from the incredible team at DICE.”

EA Studios boss Patrick Soderlund has issued a statement to PlayStation Lifestyle:

"Patrick Bach has been a great colleague to many across DICE and EA for almost 15 years. We thank him for all of his contributions, especially to our Battlefield franchise and community, and wish him all the best on his next adventure."

We'll keep you updated as soon as we know how the shape of DICE will change in light of this departure, and if Bach issues any statement on where he'll go next.

We'd like to wish Bach all the best in whatever he decides to do next.

  • "COD sales down 48% and they still sold more than us?!!?! F**k this, I can do no more, I'm out"
  • @1 hilarious but probably true...lol
  • Pretty sure he got a nice severance package on the way out.
  • Thanks for Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 1.
  • 'looking forward to what's next from Dice' shouldn't he already know what the next ten years will be bringing? :)
  • The way he shoehorned in the fact that he said he'll still be playing Battlefield. He probably left over creative differences and they made him say that lol.
  • @5 I think everybody knows 5 Battlefield games and 5 Battlefront games
