EA and Warner Bros today announced that Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince will be available in stores worldwide from June 30th ... unless you're in the UK that is, and then July 3rd is your date.

"In the game of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, players will return to Hogwarts to help Harry survive a fraught sixth year. They will also have a chance to engage in exciting wizard duels, mix and brew magical ingredients in Potions class and take to the air to lead the Gryffindor Quidditch team to victory. Players may even get sidetracked by Ron’s romantic entanglements as they journey towards a dramatic climax and discover the identity of the Half-Blood Prince."

Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince is out on June 30th worldwide, except for in the UK where you'll be seeing it July 3rd.

  • The previous one was a real decent game, so looking forward to test this one
  • Sweet.
  • Im real excited for the movie but im iffy on trying a HP game...
  • cool might have to check out the previous game before this one
  • Cant wait for the movie but the game....they have been getting better over time.
  • this is one for the kids or achievement lovers
  • about time cant wait to c the fit emma watson lol o and get 1000g :)
  • Why later in the UK? That sucks AND blows!!!
  • i love achievements.
  • OMG! the book was written in the UK, the films are filmed in the UK but the UK gets it last out of everyone?? I did like the last one but thought it was too short, i want exploring like the first 3 and the system like the 5th one. For the last one could they at least try with the achievemenets?
  • Oh no now i will cry myself to sleep i cant play until 3rd noooooooooooooooooooo!
  • @ #8 & #10 Thats becuase you don have the same age rating system as the rest of europe. This game migth be fun to play. i hope it does'nt glitch achievements like the other harry potter game did.
  • @6 bah I had a lot of fun with the last game and I didn't even finish the 1000. Calling it for kids only is pretty silly since 90% of all video games are for "kids" If it's the same system as the last game, I'll be picking it up on day 1 and waving my scrawny in game arms like a mad man once again. I'm lucky to never have read any of the books so everything in the game is new LoL!
  • This has actually been one of the more decent "movie game" series, even though they should probably be called "book games". Definitely looking forward to trying this one out too.
  • @13 "Calling it for kids only is pretty silly since 90% of all video games are for "kids" " I'm going to sound like a pedantic dick here, but for a project i did last week i actually looked into the ESRB game ratings, so i might aswell point this out while i remember the numbers! The 360 is the most adult orientated console ever, 18% of games on it are rated mature, and a huge 76% are recommended for 10+ only, so for the 360, saying 90% of games are for kids is totally wrong, it's actually only 24% that any age "should" play.
  • i actually really enjoyed order of the phoenix. and from what i see the harry potter games get better every year. so lets hope this is a good one.
  • I think we Brits are used to getting practically everything later, that's nothing new. I'll give it a whirl, kinda enjoyed the last one
  • I'm a huge HP fan, and OotP was my first 1000g, not to mention a damn decent tie-in. Think this one's to be a definately rental, at the very least :) Just, please, no Gobstones... Chess I could just about endure.
  • "and discover the identity of the Half-Blood Prince." We already know who it is.
  • Why The Anger Over It Being Released Over Here In England A Few Days Later? Not The Fucking End Of The World Is It Lol
  • @19 I don't lol. Harry Potter is shit.
  • @#12 What are you on about? It's not gonna be any different is it? its gonna be a 3+ or whatever.
  • still trying complete the last hp game but it was fun....i'll probably check this out.
  • For kids?!?!?? Now you'll be saying Viva Pinata is for kids... :'(
  • Good to know that I'm not the only one that enjoyed order of the phoenix. But I only managed to get 750/1000. Tryin to fix the entire school was a pain in the ass. I will definately gamefly this one.
  • wat loser plays this
  • @12 we still have the PEGI rating system, but yes, some games are rated by the BBFC... but surely, a Harry Potter game wont need to be rated by the BBFC. 12+ at most surely? Back to the game, these games have been getting better so hopefully the trend will continue
  • Well I'm a huge Harry Potter nerd so I will be getting this the day it comes out, I got all 1000 on OotP and I will on this one too. Now while people are wondering why the UK gets it later when its a UK made book, and filmed in the UK, the movie and games are made by American directors so I think thats why we get it first, I must say that it sucks for people in the UK.....they deserve to get it at the same time.
  • #3 Really, if you haven't yet tried one, pick up Order of the Pheonix. It was the first one I tried and I thought it was excellent. I'll definitely be picking this up at some point.
  • @6 Or fans of the series perhaps? I know Order Of The Phoenix was FAR from perfect, but damn if I didn't have pure fun just being able to explore and roam around that perfect recreation of Hogworts.
  • @26 I will...Alot of games made in UK have later release date than US..Banjo Kazooie, Fable.. ect. The age Rating is 12+ so it would be silly to call it a kids game...
  • SNAPE KILLED DUMBLEDORE !!11
  • KILL HARRY POTTER, it's already played out, there is no reason to make anymore games, already making Lego now which I despise
  • o jeaze
