Bandai Namco has announced Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, the newest entry in the action RPG series based on the anime franchise Sword Art Online. Teased as #Projekt1514 earlier this week, Fatal Bullet will be a third-person shooter action coming early 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet will feature an original story which has been supervised by Sword Art Online creator Reki Kawahara. It takes players into the world of “Gun Gale Online,” from the popular Sword Art Online II season of the series.

Players will be able to dive straight into the world of Sword Art Online and can use double jumps, air dashes and wall-to-wall repelling to travel around. The game will have full multiplayer cooperative and competitive modes with up to eight players who can collaborate or compete against one another online.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet will be available in early 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. You can check out the reveal trailer below.

  • biggest shock with this announcement is that xbox isn't being left out for once, hopefully a sign of things to come
  • That trip Phil took to Japan has paid off a bit so far. Revealing DB FighterZ on stage at E3 was really cool, and now getting this game. I hope this continues to roll with all Bandai releases going forward and we'll get more JRPGs. Which would then hopefully encourage other companies to follow suit. :)
  • i think its to early to say the trip paid off bandai had multiple games of them as multiplat. sao was always a ps exclusive though so hopefully it sells good enough on xbox to warrant more of these games from bandai.
  • @3 it seems to have paid off dbz fighers, this, code vein, monster hunter not including some other stuff out of asia even the timed exclusive mmo hitting. I know it is nothing compared to what ps gets for Japanese games but it does help
  • Teppy says this won't be good, but I want to try it.
  • Hopefully this is better than Hollow Realization on the ps4. That game threw a lot of stuff at you immediately with almost no explanations.
  • Based in the Gun Gale Online world, and it's a shooter/rpg from Japan... on Xbox? Thank you, day one!
  • I'll definitely grab this, but it's still not scratching the itch. Feels like we are just getting action based titles. Valkyria Revolution is alright, but it just feels like FF Type 0 HD. FFXV is decent, but again same thing. I really hope something traditional is on the horizon.
