Microsoft has revealed your Xbox Games with Gold for January 2018, kicking off the year with the third instalment in The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing series, as well as Ubisoft's Zombi on Xbox One.

On Xbox 360, meanwhile, you can hook up Tomb Raider Underworld: Lara Croft's final adventure before Crystal Dynamics' 2013 series reboot, before then taking the original Army of Two for a spin for some gung-ho co-op action during the second half of the month. Obviously, both are backwards compatible.

The latest crop of Games with Gold will go live from 1st January, and you can check 'em out, complete with Xbox Store links, below:

  • The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III ($14.99 ERP): Available January 1 to 31 on Xbox One
  • Zombi ($19.99 ERP): Available January 16 to February 15 on Xbox One
  • Tomb Raider Underworld ($19.99 ERP): Available January 1 to 15 on Xbox One and Xbox 360
  • Army of Two ($14.99 ERP): Available January 16 to 31 on Xbox One and Xbox 360

The current Games with Gold include Vermintide and Back to the Future on Xbox One, as well as Marlow Briggs on Xbox 360. Grab them while you can!

  • Not bad. It's nice getting a new release, and some games not already in the collection. I'll take it.
  • Awesome, glad to have another VH game free. They're not the best but decent distractions.
  • Not played any of those but got such a big backlog of games, gonna take forever to get to them. Even without a job, i rarely turn my xbox on these days due to trying to get a career started
  • Army of Two servers closed a long time ago though. I do like VH3 though.
  • Tomb Raider is good. Army of Two was a solid shooter. Short as well.
  • Games with Gold has been awful for months. It's like Microsoft have given up.
  • @6 Yet three of the four next month sold reasonably well, reviewed reasonably well, and are well known titles. If they are giving up, they are being very subtle about it. It's your opinion though, and just because it's negative, doesn't mean it's wrong. Sorry you are not getting more out of Games with Gold.
  • Yeeeeeaah! I always wanted to get Zombi, actually.
  • Army of Two is banned in Germany.so there will be a replacement
  • My birthday is January 16th I don't own 3 of those games,nice gift I can't complain whatsoever,especially van helsing 3:D
  • Best month for a while. Have them all bar VH obviously and a bit odd that they would have Ao2 when the servers switched off a long time ago.
  • @9 switch your region and you can download it. However, the rest of us can also switch to Germany and get whatever the teplacement is.
  • Glad I didn't pick up Zombi last time I saw it on sale. 4 games I don't own, so no complaints here.
  • @ #9 Why is it banned? I've searched it up and I've got nothing. In fact https://www.gamestop.de/SearchResult/QuickSearch?q=army+of+two There it is, right there. Why do you lie, #9?
  • dont own 3 either, not too bad.
  • Really enjoyed Army of Two and Underworld. The other Van Helsing game was ok, and looking forward to playing this one. Don't care for the tower defense one though. Zombi looks like fun too. Is it just me, or am I the only one that likes playing all the GWG games, and barely have time to play or buy games on their own? I mean, every 2 weeks we get 2 new games to play (if you don't have them already). I feel like I always have a handful of games to play and even more I don't have time to get to.
  • I haven't played any of these games. This next month looks good
  • It would be a good month if it was not for yet another game with unotainable achievements it's like MS don't give a shit anymore
  • @ #14 Gentleman, Army of Two IS banned in Germany. See - it's missing here: https://marketplace.xbox.com/de-de/search?query=army of two More information here: https://www.schnittberichte.com/news.php?ID=676 Your link is for Army of Two - Devil's Cartel (which is a different game). So, yep, there might be a replacement.
  • @3 Then why are you wasting time on here?!!
  • Cool finally play zombi
  • nice and also @20 just because someone doesn't really turn there xbox one on much doesn't mean that cant come to a site like this and voice there thoughts.
  • Happy about VH3, ambivalent about Zombi, confused by Ao2.
  • #16 I agree w/ your second paragraph. So hard to juggle all the games I seem to be downloading these days. In addition to potentially four free ones, I usually find at least one or two sales I like every month. Seems many of us aren't able to make a dent in our backlog, no matter how often we play, and this is a big contributor. I'm almost relieved sometimes when a GWG is something I already own :D
  • Looking forward to getting Van Helsing 3. Played the first one when that was free and really enjoyed it. May get Zombi and finish it off. My backlog is stupid, so why not add more hha
  • Decent month, even if I already own three of them. Tomb Raider was pretty good for it's time. Army of Two is a good co-op game but the servers are down, making this no longer completable. Haven't played Zombi yet but it looks interesting, and Van Helsing looks interesting enough.
  • Are the servers closed on Army of two? I thought they shut down few years ago.
  • @27 yes. They turned them off like 7 years ago. I remember having a boosting group for the achievements and finishing only like a day early.
  • really sucks AOT servers were shut down as i had 1 mp achievement to finish the game...they should bring them back online for those who havent played it...say for like 3 months
  • zero interest in playing any of these. maybe next month
  • I need to get around to playing through VH2 before VH3. Bought that on sale a while back.
