Hi-Rez Studios has announced that Paladins will be getting a new Battle Royale mode which will be a mashup of a hero-shooter combined with the style of a battle royale type game.
Paladins: Battlegrounds combines ability-driven combat with survival gameplay having players spawn into a map which is 300 times the size of a normal Paladins' Siege map. Heroes will be able to hop onto their mounts and start exploring the map, looting all sorts of gear to take on other players.
“Riding on a mount through this massive fantasy-themed map, looking for gear and cooperating with your team, Paladins: Battlegrounds delivers some of the feel of open-world MMO PvP but all within a 20-minute match,” said Todd Harris, Executive Producer of Paladins.
Paladins is the latest game to jump on the Battle Royale bandwagon along with Fortnite and with the increasing popularity of these type of games it'd come as no surprise if more titles this year decided to release a similar battle royale mode themselves.
You can check out the announcement trailer for Paladins: Battlegrounds below which will be heading to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC later this year.
