Focus Home Interactive has announced that STALKER developer Vostok Games is working on a new post-apocalyptic Battle Royale first-person shooter called 'Fear the Wolves', set for release on PC and consoles later this year. Already in development for several months, the game promises to deliver "a new and original take on the growing Battle Royale genre".
Fear the Wolves will drop players into a radiation-ravaged Chernobyl, where as squads or lone wolves, you'll then fight to survive as the last one standing out of 100 players. The game will also feature another "intense and original game mode" that will apprently "bring a fierce new twist to the genre." You'll also have deadly anomalies and dynamically-changing weather" to contend with.
There'll be a day/night cycle making you adapt your strategy, while you'll need to locate protective gear to explore the dangerous off-limits zones, but with mutated creatures howling in the distance, you might want to approach with caution. It sounds like Fear the Wolves' hostile land and the 99 other players won't be all you'll be pitted against.
Fear the Wolves will be heading to Early Access on PC sometime in 2018, before heading to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at a later date.
