Codemasters is teasing a sequel to something from its official DiRT Twitter account today, with a not particularly cryptic '2.0' and nothing else. The smart money is on a DiRT Rally 2, or rather 2.0, in keeping with the Colin McRae Rally 2.0 naming convention from back in 2000.
It's also been more than two years since DiRT Rally first released on consoles (the game had been on PC for a while before that), so it seems high time that Codies' filthy off-roader made a welcome comeback. And goodness knows it that DiRT Rally was one of the studio's best racing titles in recent years.
With DiRT 4 releasing last year, and the number after 4 being 5 and not 2, DiRT Rally 2.0 seems like a shoo-in, unless, I don't know, DiRT Showdown 2.0 is a thing? Probably not. Anyway, all will likely be revealed soon, so until then, take the time to admire the tweet below.
