DiRT Rally 2.0 Gameplay: 11-Minutes of New Zealand Cockpit Cam

Last week, Codemasters revealed that DiRT Rally is making a comeback with the aptly-titled DiRT Rally 2.0 (adopting the 2.0 previously used for Colin McRae Rally back in the day). With DiRT Rally enjoying widespread critical acclaim, DiRT Rally 2.0 has its work cut out to measure up to its predecessor.

We recently had the chance to go hands-on with DiRT Rally 2.0, heading to one of the game's dusty New Zealand stages for a bout of gruelling and rather challenging rally driving. Y'see, Codies is fully embracing the simulation side of rally racing, with more realistic rallycross and stage-based driving.

As such, DiRT 4's choice of more accessible arcade handling is out the window, meaning only more hardened racing veterans need apply. Featuring six different locations to master, DiRT Rally 2.0 promises "the most challenging" stages yet, so you'll need to bring your 'A' game. As it happens, we didn't, but gave it the old college try anyway.

DiRT Rally 2.0 will be kicking gravel into your eye when it launches for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on 26th February 2019. See how we got on with the game in our video below.
