EA has revealed on its official forums today that there will be a new Need for Speed heading to consoles later this year, but sadly it won't be making an appearance at E3.
The dev team behind Need for Speed took to the official forums to write a post about how this is a special year for the long-running racing franchise with it being its 25th anniversary. The post then goes on to say that the past was good fun and what not, but they're looking towards the future with what they've got currently in development.
"Well, as you can imagine, we’re in the business of making games, and Need for Speed games at that. You can also probably guess where this is going, but for those who haven’t– a new Need for Speed game will be releasing later in 2019!" wrote Ben Walke on the forums.
Sadly though when it comes to E3, which is in a mere few weeks, fans might be a little disappointed to learn that the next Need for Speed game will not be making an appearance there. Walke bluntly wrote, "Will we be doing anything in June? No. It’s as simple as that."
But nevertheless, fans can still look forward to a new Need for Speed game debuting sometime later this year for consoles. It's only a matter of time until we'll learn more about it, until then though you can check out the full post on the official EA forums here to see what else the team had to say.
