Originally revealed as an April Fool's joke, Funcom has announced that Conan Chop Chop is in fact a real thing that's happening later this year. A roguelike hack and slash game featuring a cartoon Conan the Barbarian, the game promises to be the "most realistic stick figure game ever" to feature the character.

"The feedback we got from fans when we released the April Fools’ Day trailer was amazing and remarkably unanimous, and so I have been itching to give them the good news ever since," said Funcom CEO Rui Casais. "But don’t be fooled by the game’s humoristic and quirky looks. There is a lot of hard work being put into this, and the game should thrill roguelike fans and hack & slash fans alike."

Tasked with putting an end to the plans of evil wizard Thoth-Amon, Conan Chop Chop will support couch co-op in Hyboria for up to 4-players, with Conan joined by Pallantides, Valeria and Bêlit across locations like the Koth desert, enchanted Darkwood, slopes of Hyperborea, and icy realm of Vanaheim, each with their own dungeons.

Combos, loot, and bosses will feature in randomly-generated maps boasting numerous weapons and abilities. Conan Chop Chop will be swinging a big sword on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 3rd September 2019. Check out the trailer below.
