Understandably, our interest was well and truly piqued when Haven was announced, described as a blend of Persona and Journey. How could we not be intrigued? Marry those influences to engaging turn-based combat and open-world exploration, and this is clearly shaping up to be an RPG to keep an eye on.

Coming from Furi developer The Game Bakers, Haven tells the story of Kay and Yu, two lovers who find themselves traversing a mysterious planet, battling large monsters and overcoming other obstacles as they strive to stay together. It not only looks rather pretty, but promises to be something quite unique.

Check out more than seven minutes of Haven gameplay below to see if the 'Persona meets Journey' claims stack up. Playable alone or with another player in co-op, Haven is set to hit Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, presumably sometime in 2020.

  • Saw some of the script and its pretty terrible. These indie developers don't know how to write proper dialogue. Here's hoping the game is so good the dialogue is easy to ignore.
  • this is the game i was looking for about a week ago that i couldn't remember the name of. pretty sure this is also launching in game pass aswell which is awesome.
