Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is an interesting proposition. A survival game based upon human evolution, you start life as an ape - man's common ancestor - and attempt to survive within a hostile jungle environment, fashioning crude weapons and tools, while fending off predators.
As a concept for a game, it's a strong one, and when you consider that it's sprung from the mind of Assassin's Creed creator Patrice Désilets and his studio, Panache Digital Games, it seems all the more exciting. But is Ancestors more than the sum of its parts? Is it more than just that game in which you play as an ape?
