A listing for the upcoming release of Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue has gone up on the Xbox Store, seemingly confirming the collection's release date on Xbox One in as soon as ten days time.

The listing was found by members of the Resetera forum (and spotted by our friends at Videogamer) and seems to indicate the collection - which until now has been exclusive to PlayStation 4 - will release on Feburary 18th, 2020. Of course, this is just the listing for the 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, which contains the side-story (using that term loosely, but Kingdom Hearts' story is very complicated) games Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage, the Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover movie and Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD.

No listing has yet been spotted for the collection of the first two mainline games - Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix - at the time of writing, but we'd be very surprised if Square Enix didn't drop everything at once in a big drop to finally allow Xbox One players of Kingdom Hearts 3 to catch up on the adventures they might have missed before the third game released on MS consoles last year.

Still, it's worth noting there's been no official announcement from Square Enix just yet - so this could very well be subject to change - but the collections were confirmed to be coming to Xbox One last November. Kingdom Hearts 3 meanwhile is gearing up to recieve the ReMIND DLC later this month on the 25th February on Xbox One after it released on PlayStation 4 at the end of January.

  • only place i can find this on the website its not in the store on the xbox one so does that mean its only available through website
  • @3: No, it'll show up on console once it's available for pre-order or purchase. Often we are able to find placeholder store pages well before the game is ready, as in this case and Double Dragon II, etc.
  • Kind of a strange order to release the KH games on X1. We get 3, 2.8 then I assume 1.5 and 2.5. Or are they going backwards with story telling and after 2.8 it will be 2.5 then 1.5?
  • @5: This is the only store page we've found, so we have no idea what the release date for the other collection will be (1.5 + 2.5 Remix is all a single collection). They could still release together.
  • Digital only?
