Zombie survival game State of Decay 2 is to recieve a huge free upgrade next month that will include all the expansion packs released for the game, a whole new map, graphical updates and more developer Undead Labs has announced.

Entitled State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition, the free update will include a brand new open world map featuring logging town Providence Ridge, a new category of heavy melee weapons, graphical improvements which include better lighting and "foilage optimisation" and all of the content from the Independence Pack, the Daybreak Pack and the State of Decay: Heartland DLC packs.

Best of all, the Juggernaut Edition will be a free upgrade to all existing owners of State of Decay regardless of whether you've already bought those packs in the past - Undead Labs are giving those that have unqiue in game gifts of a 3000 prestiege bonus and a Juggernaut inspired biker jacket  (with a different jacket depending which pack you already own) or - for those who splashed out on the game's Ultimate Edition - all that plus another exclusive in-game outfit.

The Juggernaut Edition will also enable cross-play between Xbox One/Windows Store owners and the Steam version, which launches on the same day and so should also increase the player pool for multiplayer zombie hunting with chums. State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition is set to release on Xbox One, PC and Steam on March 13th, 2020 and will also be available, as the current version of the game is, via Xbox Game Pass.

  • Does this game still have players tethered together in coop?
  • This is very cool. Now I'll have a great reason to start a new file and play this properly.
  • Hope the new map isn't like heartland with h constant attacks on your base and only one place to live.
