Originally intended for release in May, inXile Entertainment has announced that Wasteland 3 will now be launching in August, due to current events surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, forcing developers into working from home. As a result, these "logistical changes" have led to a delay.
"We're in a great position with both Microsoft and Deep Silver supporting our desire to ensure the game launches in the best possible circumstances, and to add a few extra months to ensure this is a stellar product on day one," said inXile Studio Head Brian Fargo in a statement posted to Twitter.
"That's time we're putting into acting on Beta feedback and suggestions, optimisation, polishing and refinements, and making sure we have an awesome co-op experience," Fargo added. "We're pouring our hearts into this game, and the last thing we want is to have anything but an amazing launch for a product we truly believe in."
Wasteland 3 will now be launching for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 28th August 2020. Check out Fargo's full statement on the delay below.
