A New Doctor Who Game is Coming to Xbox in 2021
Developer Maze Theory, who previously developed the VR-exclusive Doctor Who: The Edge of Time, has announced a new Doctor Who game will be coming to Xbox in 2021.
Fans of the series are promised "new adventures, new game mechanics, intriguing subplots and iconic features", including the TARDIS, Weeping Angels, Daleks, with Jodie Whittaker's Doctor making an appearance as well. While details aren't clear, this doesn't appear to be a non-VR adaptation of The Edge of Time, with the game revealed alongside a mobile game to create a 'trilogy of experiences' alongside the previously released VR title.
We enjoyed Doctor Who: The Edge of Time, saying in our review over on PST that it was "probably the best Doctor Who game to date", so we're hoping that Maze Theory are able to improve on the experience to make a truly great Doctor Who game. In the meantime, if you're craving to play something Doctor Who-y, I tried playing The Outer Worlds as a Doctor Who game last year - you can check out that feature here.
Maze Theory's unnamed Doctor Who game will arrive on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC in early 2021.
