Publisher Microids and developer PlayMagic have announced that the long-awaited XIII remake will finally be releasing this November, having been originally scheduled to launch in November 2019. The game was subsequently delayed in August 2019, with a tentative '2020' release window.

"We are thrilled with PlayMagic’s work so far. This additional development time is needed to reach the level of polish we’re aiming for," Microids Head of Production François Coulon said at the time of the game's delay. "The announcement was greeted by an overwhelming response from the community and we’ll make sure to deliver the best possible game to our fans."

First released for Xbox and PS2 in 2003, XIII is a cel-shaded first-person shooter based upon the Belgian comic book of the same name. In it, you play as Thirteen, an agent who awakens on Brighton beach with no memory of who he is, and soon learns that he's been accused of assassinating the US President. It's also rather good.

XIII is set to launch for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 10th November 2020, with a physical Limited Edition available for consoles, bundling the game, steelbook cover, three art cards, and the Golden XIII weapons skin pack DLC.

  • Hope the comic gets a reissue too. Read the first bande dessinĂ©e and it was really good.
