The Ascent Delayed Until 2021, Will Launch on Xbox Game Pass

Richard Walker

Cyberpunk-style action RPG The Ascent has been pushed into 2021, having previously been on course for release later this year. However, the game will now be heading to Xbox Game Pass for Xbox Series X and Xbox One upon its release next year, so every cloud.

In The Ascent, you'll be able to band together with friends in co-op multiplayer to explore 'The Ascent Group' arcology, a corporate metropolis teeming with towering buildings that reach high into the skyline. Playing as an indentured worker just as the world goes haywire, your survival relies on taking up arms to hold off the corporations and crime syndicates.

Featuring solo and co-op play for up to four players, The Ascent includes an open world to freely roam, RPG mechanics with cyberwear, augmentations, and loot, as well as a narrative-driven adventure to pursue, plenty of verticality, and a 'double-aim mechanic' enabling you to choose between multiple targets anywhere within an environment.

The Ascent will now be coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2021, and will be available for Xbox Game Pass on launch day. Check out the new developer walkthrough trailer below.
