New Mass Effect Game Concept Art Revealed in BioWare Book

BioWare has revealed some new concept art for the next Mass Effect game in a recently released book looking at the history of the studio.

The images were scanned and posted to Tumblr by Felassan (via Eurogamer) from “BioWare: Stories and Secrets from 25 Years of Game Development” which takes a look at BioWare's early games, cancelled projects and more recent outing. These images come from a section titled “The Future of BioWare - Back to Space” and appear to be set in the Andromeda galaxy, suggesting that the next Mass Effect game will be a sequel to Mass Effect: Andromeda.

BioWare revealed Mass Effect Legendary Edition last week, a remastered collection of the first three Mass Effect games, and also announced that work had begun on the next Mass Effect game in the process.

“Meanwhile here at BioWare, a veteran team has been hard at work envisioning the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe,” said Studio Head Casey Hudson in the blog post. “We are in early stages on the project and can’t say any more just yet, but we’re looking forward to sharing our vision for where we’ll be going next.”

While it's certainly exciting to hear that a new Mass Effect game is in the works, it's worth pointing out that BioWare also first teased Dragon Age 4 nearly two years ago, and we've barely seen anything of the game since, so it'll likely be a long wait for the next Mass Effect game too. In the meantime, you can check out the new concept art down below, as well as the “Mudskipper” concept art from last week's blog post.
