Publisher SOEDESCO and developer PixelHive has released a new story trailer for Kaze and the Wild Masks, its upcoming 2D platformer inspired by classic '90s examples of the genre like Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros., and, erm, Bubsy the Bobcat, probably.

Featuring a 16-bit art style and music also inspired by its '90s influences, Kaze and the Wild Masks sees you playing as eponymous rabbit, Kaze, traversing the Crystal Islands on a quest to save your friend Hogo from a curse. The game includes more than 30 levels to complete, as well as 50 bonus stages.

Durign your journey, you'll face “enraged living vegetables", using the Wild Marks of the title to gain certain abilities like the ability to pounce with the tiger mask, fly using the eagle mask, sprint quickly with the lizard marks, and swim through the sea while wearing the shark mask.

Kaze and the Wild Masks launches for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and PC on 26th March, with a physical release also set to release for Xbox One, PS4, and Switch on 25th May 2021.
