Project Winter March Update Adds New Map With a Gondola For Elevated Betrayal

Other Ocean Interactive has released the first major update for Project Winter, which launched for Xbox and PC via Xbox Game Pass last month. The update will enable you to “elevate your betrayal” in a new map that features an elevated cabin in the northernmost tile rather than the centre, a gondola with rapid transport to the southernmost tile, and a narrow ramp that descends the cliffside to the region below the cabin.

As well as all of that, the new map introduces “new gameplay dynamics”, including the first objective being located outside the southern gondola station rather than around the cabin, and the option for traitors to delay the gondola by sabotaging it. Basically, it's quite literally a case of ‘ride or die’. Tile variations for existing normal mode maps will also be included with the update, changing the positions of trees, rocks, and more around the cabin.

“We are excited to release these new features to our over 1 million survivors and traitors in our Project Winter community,” said Other Ocean Product Director, Ryan Hale. “Whether you are new to the game or have been playing since the beginning, this new content update gives players new and exciting ways to betray their friends.”

Other additions with the patch include text chat for pre-game lobbies, added sound effect when sending or receiving messages, various UI improvements for the Xbox controller, an updated cross-play icon, and more. You can read the complete March update patch notes here.

Project Winter is available now for Xbox One and PC via Xbox Game Pass.
