TT Games has switched off its release date targeting computer, delaying LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga indefinitely. Tweeting a status update on the upcoming LEGO title set within a galaxy far, far away, the developer stated that it “needs more time” to finish the game.

“All of us at TT Games are working hard to make LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga the best-ever LEGO game - but we need more time to do it,” reads the studio's tweet. “We won't be able to make out intended Spring release date, but will provide updated launch timing as soon as possible.”

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will feature action from all nine mainline movies in the series from the Original Trilogy, the Prequel Trilogy, and the latest three films, The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker. Hopefully, we'll have a solid release date for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga soon.

  • Good. Gives me more time to start/complete my last two LEGO games; Incredibles and DC Super Villains.
  • If Jon Burton still worked at TT, this game would have been finished a year ago.
  • @bLaKgRaVy those are terrible Lego games so you ain't missing much
  • @scardo I know, but they’re the only two released titles I haven’t played (100% completed every other title from 2006 to now except Rock Band, Worlds and Bionicle). Skywalker will be the last one I play.
  • Time they will hopefully use to impldment online coop. It would be about time that feature was included..
  • @Lord - would be nice, but since only three titles have had online, all of which came out 10+ years ago, it’s highly doubtful. Plus, Arthur Parsons has said that they’d prefer to keep LEGO couch co-op, but maybe with the ongoing pandemic, they may change their mind.

I’m still hoping for 1000G per movie and DLCs based on Rogue One, Solo and The Mandalorian, but I really doubt it.
  • @bLaKgRaVy I'm looking at it the same way, where it gives me time to finish the Lego backlog. Not counting stacks, I've got Marvel 2, Avengers, Ninjago, Movie 2, City, and the 2nd season of Dimensions DLC left to do myself.
  • I really wish they hadn't put all their eggs in this one basket.

Because, let's face it, Star Wars isn't as popular a franchise as it used to be.

What's gonna happen to TT when this doesn't sell enough to meet what I have to assume are very high expectations? Their last game was LEGO Movie 2 in February 2019. They went from producing 2-3 games per year to nothing in 2 years and they're still pushing the one game they're actually working on even further back.

Also knowing that you're gonna have to suffer through both the prequels (again!) AND the Disney shite (again, partially!) for the completion is gonna be a chore. Who knows, maybe they'll make it so that Rei can do everything so you only need her minifig to play the last 3 flicks?
