Ghost Recon Future Soldier and Rainbow Six Vegas Among Ubisoft Multiplayer Servers Being Shut Down Soon

Ubisoft is set to shut down a selection of multiplayer servers for a handful of its older titles later this year, including some Tom Clancy games like 2012's Ghost Recon Future Soldier, and both Rainbow Six Vegas and its sequel. The decision to close down these games online servers is due to moving resources to other, more recent games.

However, this does mean that any online multiplayer achievements across these titles will become unobtainable, so you might want to get cracking on those, if you haven't unlocked them already. If you're on PC, meanwhile, it may also interest you to know that the likes of Assassins Creed 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Far Cry 2 are also set to lose online support. You can consult the complete list here.

Ubisoft Connect support will also cease on the titles, with any units earned and rewards unclaimed disabled, to boot. Currently, there's no fixed date on when exactly Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Rainbow Six Vegas, and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will no longer have online multiplayer support, beyond simply ‘2021’. Your best bet is to get to work unlocking any missing achievements while you still can.

Ubisoft Titles Losing Online Support:

  • Ghost Recon Future Soldier - PC/X360/PS3 - 2021
  • Rainbow Six Lockdown -PC/PS2/XB/GC - 2021
  • Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - PC/X360/PS3/XBO - 2021
  • Rainbow Six VegasPC/X360/PS3/PSP2021

  • I would like to know what effect this has as I thought a lot of these games were peer to peer? Like I believe future soldier and splinter cell conviction both were? Let me guess it asks the server for a verification before it allows peer to peer connections therefore everyone suffers still?
