XBA Review: NieR Replicant ver.122474487139...

Neither remake nor remaster, NieR Replicant actually lies somewhere in between, arriving as a revamped “version up” of the 2010 title that released in the west as NieR and in Japan as NieR Gestalt. This is clearly something for anyone who loved NieR Automata, and is thirsty for more – the combat will be immediately recognisable, as will the lustrous green grass draped in a dreamlike haze. But does it bear the same gratifying combat and narrative depth as Automata? Or, indeed, is NieR Replicant as good as you remember?
