Bandai Namco, SEGA, and Gearbox Join Growing List of Publishers at E3 2021

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has announced the addition of several high-profile publishers joining the all-digital E3 2021.

Bandai Namco, SEGA, Marvelous USA, Gearbox Entertainment, Freedom Games, and more are all set to be involved, with Square Enix's inclusion now officially confirmed following comments from its president, Yosuke Matsuda.

These publishers join the likes of Microsoft, Nintendo, Capcom, Ubisoft, WB Games, Koch Media, Take-Two Interactive, who were previously confirmed when the event was first announced last month. E3 2021 is due to take place between 12th-15th June 2021, with plenty of new game announcements and reveals expected.

“E3 2021 is set to continue its legacy as the premier video game industry event as we add new publishers, sponsors and partners'' said ESA CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis. “We can’t wait to share more details about this virtual event for audiences around the globe.”

Speaking of reveals, the addition of these new publishers has put the wheels of speculation in motion. Could Bandai Namco finally be ready to show off FromSoftware's Elden Ring? Does SEGA have more to reveal for Sonic's 30th Anniversary? We're excited to find out.

  • Random thought, but do you think we will ever have another blockbuster game? I wrote an opinion piece a couple of years back on the subject but with digital sales being what they are and inevitable social pandemic fallout probably means round-the-block lines at midnight launch events are a thing of the past.

I say that cause a part of E3 was watching the trailers separately then getting together for the midnight launch to gush about what you are most excited to do in the game and swap gamertags. Good times.
