Capcom has revealed that Resident Evil Village has now shipped over four million units globally, since it launched earlier this month.

The eighth mainline game in the Resident Evil series, Village romped to a massive three million units within less than a week after launch. Now it seems its already shipped one million more, and we're not even at the end of the month yet.

They are impressive numbers, especially when compared to Resident Evil 7, which didn't break the 3.5 million unit mark until April 2017 following a January launch, and only crossed 4 million units by October 2017. Of course, Resident Evil 7 has gone on to ship over 9 million units, so we're yet to see if Resident Evil Village has a similar tail within the coming years.

Resident Evil Village is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.

  • Played the game 4 times and still want to play more. Side note: on "ThAt" site, it seems the Mercenaries Mode S rank achievement proves to be a big obstacle to many many from 1000G-ing the game. Hope Capcom can make the challenge mode achievement(s) for the next RE title more lenient.
  • I played it twice and had enough. Do I wish it was longer? Fuck yes, adding 25-50% length would be nice especially considering there is a lot of backtracking already, but at least it lets me live on to other games sooner.

Still wish it was more of a horror like previous one, but maybe they will go back to that with next game...
