Developer Wishfully Studios has announced its debut title, Planet of Lana, a beautiful hand-painted adventure coming to Xbox next year.
Described as an “off-earth odyssey”, Planet of Lana is set on an alien world, and tells the story of Lana and her animal companion Mui as they attempt to rescue Lana's sister. A side-scroller by nature, Planet of Lana will see players taking on daring platforming, engaging puzzles, and stealth sequences. Meanwhile, a companion mechanic connects Lana and Mui, allowing for interesting story and gameplay moments using their abilities together.
The visual style combines hand-drawn artwork with subtle us of 3D graphics, similar to something like Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and features an epic soundtrack. On Xbox Series X, the game will run at a native 4K resolution at 60FPS, to truly show off the ‘interactive painting’ look that the game is aiming for.
