Saber Interactive has announced World War Z: Aftermath, an enhanced version of its 2019 co-op zombie shooter due to release for last-gen consoles and PC later this year, before a next-gen version (featuring support for 4K at 60fps) drops in early 2022. If you plan on upgrading to the next-gen version from the original version of World War Z, it'll also cost you.

Aftermath for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC promises an exclusive Horde XL mode to be added as free post-launch DLC, featuring hundreds more undead on-screen at once. All content from the World War Z: Game of the Year Edition will also be bundled, alongside new ‘Vanguard’ class undead creatures, a first-person mode, and new melee system. Three new locations will also feature, taking you to Rome, Vatican City, and the Kamchatka peninsula in Russia.

World War Z: Aftermath is due to release for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC later in 2021, priced $39.99, with an upgrade for existing owners of World War Z available for $19.99. A Deluxe Edition bundling a bonus DLC weapon pack, weapon skins, and four-day early access will also be available to purchase for $49.99, or as a $29.99 upgrade for owner of the original World War Z.

The Xbox Series X|S and PS5 release of World War Z: Aftermath is then due to arrive in early 2022, with a free upgrade for anyone who has already purchased Aftermath on Xbox One or PS4.
