New publisher Prime Matter has released an overview trailer for upcoming action-RPG The Last Oricru, showing off eight minutes of gameplay with developer commentary.

The Last Oricru is set on a medieval-stylesci-fi world, and has a strong emphasis on dynamic storytelling, with the player given decisions and dialogue options to choose between, which will affect the trajectory of the game. Playing as Silver, a human who crash-landed on the alien world of Wardenia and has just awoken from his cryochamber, you'll fight huge bosses, side with different factions, and take on hoards of dangerous enemies.

There's certainly a hint of Dark Souls here, although the strong narrative focus and addition of local co-op certainly set it apart. There are even some gameplay systems exclusive to local co-op, with the overview trailer showing two players taking out a giant spider boss, with one player luring the boss beneath an archway, while the other drops the portcullis from a distance, taking it out instantly.

The Last Oricru will be one of the first titles published by Koch Media's new premium publishing label, Prime Matter, and is set to launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

  • The combat looked a bit... rough but I'm actually pretty interested in this.
  • Interested to see the final product. I know it says alpha footage, which makes sense because all of that looks very rough.
