Dragon Age 4 and New Mass Effect Won't Be Shown at EA Play Live Later This Month

BioWare has confirmed that we won't be seeing any more of its two biggest franchises at the upcoming EA Play Live event later this month.

With plenty of new announcements expected, the developer has set expectations ahead of the event, saying that while it is working hard on the next games in the Dragon Age and Mass Effect franchises, it will have nothing to show at EA Play Live.

While fans may be disappointed, the news isn't all that surprising, given how far off from release both titles seem to be right now. Dragon Age 4 did get a brief teaser trailer at The Game Awards in December, featuring Solas, but a report from February suggested that BioWare had removed all planned multiplayer content from the title, which may have delayed development.

As for Mass Effect, we also got a short teaser trailer for a new Mass Effect title at The Game Awards last year, but the game was still in the early phases of development, so we wouldn't be surprised if its a few years off yet.

What will we see at EA Play Live, then? The biggest rumour doing the rounds right now relates to a new release in the Dead Space franchise, which has been corroborated by multiple sites. We've not got too long to wait to find out, either, with EA Play Live kicking off on 22nd July 2021.

EA has also revealed a schedule of livestreams coming throughout July, which you can check out below. Promisingly, it seems EA is separating out its EA Sports news into other events earlier in the month, so perhaps this will be a more well-paced event from EA than usual.
