Confirmed by Ubisoft a couple of weeks ago, Assassin's Creed Infinity will see the storied franchise adopting a new live service framework when it potentially launches in 2024 or sometime after that, but apparently, that won't impact the series' ability to spin a good story.

Assassin's Creed Infinity will encompass multiple historical time periods rather than a single time and place like previous entries, and as a live service game, it'll be designed to evolve and grow. It may also be used as a hub from which you'll be able to play other Assassin's Creed games.

According to Ubisoft CFO Frédérick Duguet, speaking during an earnings call (via VGC), Assassin's Creed Infinity is “an exciting and ambitious project for the franchise,” in which the company will remain “committed to staying true to the DNA of AC, meaning that we come with high quality narrative experiences.”

Duguet went on to say that Ubisoft has “exciting plans for the future” that will be implemented in Assassin's Creed Infinity, “that have the potential to significantly expand both the brand’s reach and the recurring profile while holding true to Assassin’s Creeds’ legacy of rich narrative experiences.”

He added that Assassin's Creed Infinity, a collaborative effort between Assassin's Creed Valhalla studio Ubisoft Montreal and Assassin's Creed Odyssey developer Ubisoft Quebec, “is in the early stages of development and we will share more details in due time.” Watch this space.

  • Please have some coop please lol

  • Last time an AC had a title like this they called it Unity. Hope its good. Unity was eventually.
  • Given their latest track record with all their games, I'm going to doubt that statement. I'll wait a year or two and see what everyone has to say then.
  • The AC franchise has just gotten way too deep into the RPG element of things and it's strayed so far away from the roots. I used to really enjoy them but that whole RPG shit can go.
  • Who cares to be honest. It’s not like Assassins creed was that great in the first place. Maybe the most overrated franchise out there.
  • Just make it F2P, with all the ingame monetization I'm not really keen to buy a ubisoft fullprice game again.
