WB Games and Turtle Rock Studios have shared the post-launch roadmap for Back 4 Blood today, serving up a menu of what's in store for the co-op zombie blaster, including Free Updates and content arriving as part of the Annual Pass, having drawn in more than six million players since its release last month.

Among the Free Updates will be an offline solo mode with proper campaign progression (following complaints regarding its absence at launch), a new difficulty level, new player cards, corruption cards, a new card type, a new co-op mode, and a seasonal event set to take place in time for the holidays.

Back 4 Blood has already received a hotfix addressing the frequency of special mutated spawning, but you can expect more quality of life improvements and bug fixes, as well as updates to melee mechanics, new Supply Lines to unlock, a Ridden Practice Area, and much more. Content from the Annual Pass, meanwhile, will commence in 2022.

First up will be the new ‘Tunnels of Terror’ expansion with new story content, playable Cleaners and Ridden, a new activity type, new weapons, cards, and exclusive character skins. Purchasing the Annual Pass for $39.99/£34.99 will grant access to the Tunnels of Terror expansion, as well as two further expansions, all coming in 2022.

Back 4 Blood is available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC - you can check out our review here and take a look at the full content roadmap below.

  • Got 2 missions left in Act 2 on Nightmare so who knows, maybe I'll be ready for some of this new content in 2022, or just stuck on Act 3, lol.
  • The absence of solo progression from the outset was ridiculous. It should have been there from the start, and I bet many people who wanted to play it solo will not ever return to the game (indeed, they may never know that it has (will be) been included)...
