Ever since settling into an annual release cycle, Call of Duty is a series that's earned more than its share of detractors. It hasn't stopped Activision's flagship franchise from consistently racking up colossal sales figures and continued success with each and every year. It's easy to be derisive about CoD, and for some, it's the game that people love to hate.
We're very much of the opinion that Call of Duty is one of the most complete and reliable first-person shooter experiences around, seldom failing to deliver. This year, it's Advanced Warfare and WWII developer Sledgehammer Games' crack of the whip, bringing another Second World War adventure to the table, with a new cast of characters. It sounds promising, but is it actually any good?
